Car spotting.

Nice day for it

It has been an interesting week. A couple of warm days. And then two days with Summer temperatures, and as I am typing this it is snowing! On one of those Summer days I rode 85 km and visited two lookout points, but I also managed to get a bug or something, so I have been in bed with a fever for the last 24 hours. Only walking very slowly between the bed and the bathroom.

The Swedish Army Museum

While out strolling on Östermalm in Stockholm recently, I took a shortcut over Artillerigården where you will find The Swedish Army Museum at Riddargatan. Or Armémuseum in Swedish. The architect was Carl Cronstedt. Finished in 1770. Inside you can look at some of the 100 000 items that the museum has to offer. Outside you can see old cannons. A statue remembering fallen soldiers at the battle of Poltava. Stridsvagn 103 which is a battle tank from the 1950s. And of course the interesting design of the fence.

Hepatica nobilis

A few days with Summer temperatures this week. So everything will hopefully turn green again, soon. I photographed these "blåsippor" at Håga in Västerhaninge.

I see you

Visiting Kungsträdgården more and more now as I am waiting for the Cherry Blossom. There is always a lot of people here, so it is a good spot for street photography. The dog spotted me as it waited for it's owner to finish his ice cream. Hopefully the dog got a treat later.

Nice day for it

Sure was a nice day for it. I parked the bike at Vattentorget, the new square that opened for the public last year. Located down by the water in the Old Town. Became an instant hit with both locals and tourists. Still a lot of construction in this area. A few restaurants will open come the Summer. These teenagers were relaxing on the new boardwalk along Munkbroleden.

The stories we tell

Walking down the busiest pedestrian street in Stockholm, Drottninggatan, you see a lot of interesting people. This guy spotted me as I took a few street snaps of him. He then walked past me, stopped, turned around, and asked if I perhaps wanted to take a real portrait of him. Which I did. I then showed him the photo, he looked a bit surprised with the quality of it, which of course made my day.

The doomscrolling era

Spotted while walking along Skeppsbrokajen a few days ago. I counted eight doomscrollers.

Three happy guys out running at Skeppsbron in Stockholm. It sure was a nice day for it.

Another sign of spring

Nice to see people out on the concrete pier at Hammarby sjöstad again. Whenever I bike into Stockholm over the Skanstull bridge I glance down to the canal at the Hammarby lake to see if there's anyone there. And I often stop for a photo.

Out walking

Out walking along Götgatsbacken on Södermalm. The real name of the street is Götgatan. And then there's the hilly part of said street, and it is always easy to find something to aim the camera at there. People enjoying a beer at Stigbergets fot. A couple walking past the Embassy of the Netherlands. Espresso House if you feel like a fika. Browsing world news. A young mother walking and eating, clearly a multitasker. Green Laces. Vegan shoes? A delivery guy from Wolt trying to figure out why I am am taking a photo of his moped. And lastly a nicely dressed guy walking past the Bruno mall, and behind him a smoker that could loose a kilo or two.

Oldenburg

A German military ship berthed at Skeppsbrokajen for a few days. The Oldenburg. A corvette. So I decided to check it out. The Swedish soldiers all looked happy with the visitors. Nice day for it also. The restaurants just behind me were filled to capacity with people enjoying the fine Spring weather.

Antique store

Antique store at S:t Göransgatan. I think it is operated by one of the vendors that I have photographed a few times at the Hötorget flea market. But here is the fun thing. I have made one of the items that you can see in this photo. But it is not furniture. It is a "låslåda" from Aluseal that sits to the left on the wall outside the entrance here.
