🌸🕯🌸 #holz #heimwerker #holzistgenial #basteln #kreativblogger #diyinspiration #upcycledmaterials #nachhaltigleben #Altholz #Häuschen #kendinyapfikirleri #bastelnmitholz #woodcrafted #dekoideen #vintagedecor | Dani Tinker

Imagine the possibilities! Tell me what you think of this project!! Find us at:... | By Whimsy Barn | Do you have an old salt and pepper shaker around your house? Here's one thing you might do with it. For this project, you need at least one shaker, some yarn or ribbon or lace if you're choosing, some twine or wire and in this case, I'm using some bracelet twine and a few beads if you're choosing. I'm also going to be using this silk flower but you wouldn't necessarily have to do that in yours. The first thing I'm going to do is wrap my yarn in my ribbon and lace around a piece of cardboard many times. I'm going to set that aside for a minute while I next feed my twine through the holes of the top of the salt and pepper shakers. When I'm done with that, I'm going to add my bees to the top that will leave me two loose strings coming out the bottom of my salt and pepper shaker. Next, I'm taking the black twine and I'm going to feed it through all of the pieces I have wrapped around my cardboard. This way, I can gather them up and tie it off. I'm leaving lots of extra twine and I'm going to feed that right through the middle of my flower. Now, I'm going to attach all of that to the twine I fed through my salt and pepper shaker and once it's tied off, I'll pull my twine up tight. Then, I simply tie it off at the top and cut it to the length that I want. The inspiration for this project actually came from a blog called Salvaged Living. I encourage you to check out Kim Pepper Creative in all that she's doing. She has some amazing projects over there and of course, like all artists and creatives, I just have to adapt it a little to make it my own. This is such a fun project that almost anyone can do and I love how it add such a fun little whimsical vibe to anywhere I might place it. If we haven't met, my name is Sandy from WhimsyBarn. Check out my online shop. Maybe jump on our email list but definitely come back tomorrow because we'll have more vintage goodness.

It... | By Whimsy Barn | Guys, you want to make something together while we talk about savoring life and things like that. Not necessarily just food. Gotta frame a recipe from my husband's mother and peel and stick paper and this cutting board that I thrifted. Around here, we normally do vintage but on Tuesdays, we pause for, you know, some joy for our journey. This month at Whimsy Barn in between all our vintage goodness, we're talking about savoring like how to stop and actually enjoy life's little moments. I want to know did you enjoy anything this week? So, I have to admit this is pre-recorded for you because I'm doing a leadership conference this week and so I don't know. Did I stop and savor anything? I mean, I can only imagine what I did. I'm imagining that I savored a great conversation with my adult daughter or son. I have an adult son too. I'm imagining that my husband and I, we stopped at like another donut shop on the weekend. Right now, I'm testing all the donut shops in like the Orlando area and so far, like after we go to estate sales, I just pick one out and we go try it. I'll not tell you where I went last week but is really disappointing. How do you mess up a chocolate donut? I'm I'm just saying but I put my sticky paper on the back of like the frame thingy dingy. That's the technical word for it and I'm going to put this recipe for ice box cookies right in the middle with just a little tiny piece of tape because I want to be able to switch it out if I want to or just not ruin my recipe card. If you've been thinking about savoring this week, have you been thinking about why you should stop and savor? I mean, what good does it do as to actually stop and notice the enjoyable in our life. I think it does a lot of good. Though while my glue gun is heating up, let me just say this. Like you have a choice every single day. You can choose to notice all the negative things in your life or you can choose to savor the positive ones. It truly is a choice. You know the thing where if you're going to like buy a yellow beetle as a car, you'll be able to see yellow beetles driving all over the place where you didn't see them before? It's the same thing you guys. If you're actually looking to savor moments in your life that are good and enjoyable, you're going to find them. But if you're not looking for them, you might tend to focus on the negative because our brains just kind of naturally do that. Gotta get that puppy down quick because hot glue would dries so fast. I wasn't quick enough. I love that so many of you have told me that you love coming to Whimsy Barn because it's a calm, peaceful atmosphere where you can enjoy yourselves. Like I wonder if that's because we focus on things that are good and right and true and just and positive. I don't think I have rose-colored glasses when I see the world. I see what's out there. I just choose to focus on the things that I can do to bring positive choices to our world. Some of you say you want to see when my projects don't work. Um well, the problem is I just keep going until they do like we got the big guns now. So, you guys, you can tell I get a little animated talking about what it is that you perceive around you in world. It's not because I don't think we live in a sometimes harsh world. I think it's more about the choices that we make, the things that we put in front of ourselves and also honestly, the attitude in our heart. So, if you and I were sitting across from each other right now having coffee and he says, Sandy, how the heck do I change how I perceive the world? You know what I would say? I would say it starts by savoring the small moments by noticing the small good things that are right there already in your life. If we haven't met name is Sandy from Whimsy Barn. Check out my online shop. Maybe jump on our email list but definitely come back tomorrow. We'll have more vintage goodness.

Now we're going to need some boiling water a half a cup and you have to make sure that it's boiling. Now we're going to take half a cup of the epsom salt and pour it into that boiling hot water. And I'm stirring it really well until that water glows clear and we're just going to add in like two drops of dish soap. You don't need very much. Now I've seen people use sponges and paint brushes but I get the best results using a spray bottle. And we want to make that we have all of that epsom salt dissolved in that water. And you're just going to start spraying that pane of glass. You want to do it evenly so it's going to be forming nice crystals. So I just start at one end of the window and just spray until it's completely soaked. I set this aside. I came back in about an hour and this is what I had. Beautiful crystals on our panes of glass. This is so easy to do and if you want to clean it up afterwards you just take a scraper and carefully scrape it off and you're back to your plain glass.
