This adorable pink... | By Painted by Mandy | Today I made a valentines door hanger and this is a tutorial for the bow that I used on it. You're going to start with five inch wide burlap. I always use this for the base of my bows. For this next step I'm using wired ribbon and it's two inches wide. You're going to create an eight shape. That's the best way that I can describe it. It's just going to be two loops. You'll fold each loop over like this and then pinch it in the middle and secure it with some floral wire. I get this wire Hobby Lobby. It's really cheap and easy to work with. I just wrap it around the middle of the ribbon and then twist it to secure it in the back. Once you've done that, you want to adjust all the loops to make sure they're the appropriate size and then you want to pull the tails down to the bottom of the bow. You're going to repeat this step with a smaller ribbon. This one is one inch wide. It's also going to be a wired ribbon. There's no reason to buy any other type of ribbon because it's not going to work for bows. The wire the ribbon is what makes the bow keep its shape. Now that I've repeated that step with this smaller ribbon and I'm securing it with my floral wire, I'm just going to pull those tails down to the bottom. It looks like this. Sometimes you'll have to pull it through a loop to get it to stay. Now you have three layers. You're just going to take that two inch ribbon and the remaining floral wire on the back and attach it to the burlap. Twist it around a few times. Now you'll do the same with the one inch ribbon. You're just going to place it on top and use that existing floral wire to attach it to the burlap and the other ribbon. Now I'm just fluffing the bow up and I'm going to trim the tails to make sure they're all in even length. You can dovetail them if you'd like. I'm just cutting straight across. Now I'm using jute rope and wrapping it around the middle to cover up that zip tie in the floral wire. You'll just tie that in the back into a knot and here's your finished bow. And here's the sign that I use the bow on. I do offer the SVG file as well for this sign if you'd like to make it yourself.

Multi-Ribbon Holiday Bow | Let's make a multi-ribbon holiday bow tonight, y'all! Who's trying this recipe?! | By Southern Charm Wreaths | Hey y'all. In this video I want to show you how to make a multi ribbon bow for your holiday decorating. Okay so first we're going to use a two and a half inch ribbon. We're going to make about an eight inch long streamer. And then I'm going to take the leading edge of this ribbon and twist it towards me. Like turn it towards me. So that we have the backside of the ribbon facing up. And we're just going to roll this around and measure on your your board to 8 inches, alright? So we know we've got an eight inch loop. The leading edge of the ribbon just bend it and twist it towards me, okay? And then that puts the backside of the ribbon over here now and we're going to do the same thing. We're going to measure out to eight inches and then we're going to come over this way with it and then trim. So we got about an eight inch tail over on this side. Okay? So this is what our bow looks like now. We've got two loops that are 8 inches. Just like that. Alright, so now I'm going to take and use the bread. Let's do bread. Gonna do the same thing. Measure out an eight-inch streamer, the leading edge or the top edge of the ribbon. We're just going to twist it towards me. Gonna make an eight-inch streamer Okay and then twist the top of the edge, the ribbon towards me. And now we're going to make another eight inch streamer. And then lay that down and then trim off from the bolt. Let's go ahead and put this one over here. Okay, so we've got two Actually, let's mix this up. There we go. We're just mixing up our loops so they blend. Just like that. Alright and now I'm going to switch it to our other lime green. This time we're going to go and make a still eight inch streamer here and we're going to make seven inch loop. So we're coming in one inch. Right? So we did our one inch on this side right here and now we're going to measure out our one inch over here on this side And then we're going to cut this off the bolt. Where's that one? Alright, there's this. So that sort of loop falls in between the two eight inch loops that we first made. So this is what it looks like. See how you're just layering it on top. So now let's see what do we want. The next one we're going to add is let's do this white. Okay I'm going to start it over on this side and twist. Alright and now we're going to make this one a six-inch loop. Let's do six. Twist. And measure to six. Let me see the ruler. Okay? And then we're going to cut. Oh I like that white. Alright so we've got these. Two. And then now we're going to grab another one and a half inch. Ribbon And we're going to do that same thing. This is 6 inches. Make sure those measure right. 6 inches. We don't need to twist because we're going to end. So now we did another X. We did an X and then two loops and now we've got another X both measuring the same length. Okay? And this is what our bow looks like now. It's all stacked. And I'm going to go ahead and grab one more ribbon. You can end it with another green one. Let's see what that look like. Let's just end it with another. Nope, we don't have one. I might end it with the green one after all. This one is going to be think I don't like the greens with that. Alright so let's go ahead and end it with another green ho ho ho. Alright so we're just going to twist. Alright so the last layer we did was six inches. So now I'm going to move my little loops around to try to find That 5 inch. Alright. And then let's reverse that because I want some green streamers over on this side. There we go. I'm trying to mix up the colors as I make it as well as get my links right. Alright so we're going to trim this off. So just doing one loop right there. The 5 inch. Okay. So this is me just fluff it. So you've got your X in the back and you've got one loop and then you've got this X that measures the two same lengths and the same thing on the other side. Then we've got our center loop and this is what it looks like. Alright so grab florist wire. You can use florist wire or pipe cleaner. And I'm going to pull this up and off. Making sure to grab all of the ribbon. Get my force wire out. I dropped it on the floor. Alright, there we go. Alright, so you see how I have this bulky in my hand. I'm just going to rotate my arm like I'm checking my watch and rotate the ribbon around. So, if you like your bow stacked like this, you just twist it off right here and it'll be stacked. Honestly, I like to just move things around a little bit so that it's not so stacked. I just like to that I've got my bottom layer and then my little center loop and I've got my six inch loops and then I've got my five inch loop that's the center just like that and then turn it over I pull the bow towards me and the wire away from me at the same time and I twist Gonna twist this really good. Okay? And then at this point you can go through and dovetail all of the little ends of your ribbon. Okay. Let's move over this way. So the dovetail you fold your ribbon in half and then on the fold cut towards the corner. So fold your ribbon in half on the fold cut towards the corner. Fold your ribbon in half on the fold cut towards the corner. We got some more over here. This just gives a little finishing edge. You don't have to do this. Just give our little fluff. One of the reasons we use wired ribbon is that we can always fluff it as we need to and reshape and this is what my multi ribbon bow. There you have it. I know you can make this. Just get yourself some ribbon and a bow maker if you can't do it by hand and follow along if you want some more holiday decorating attempts.
