What if we told you there's a hidden oasis in the San Fernando Valley where simply breathing can boost your health? Today on Eat Live Love San Fernando... | By Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley | What if I told you there's a hidden oasis in the San Fernando Valley where simply breathing can boost your health? Today on Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley, we're stepping into the Valley Salt Cave in Woodland Hills, a tranquil escape with the healing power of salt takes relaxation to the next level. Get ready to experience a breath of fresh air like never before on today's episode. So today on Eat Live San Fernando Valley, we're here in the city of Woodland Hills at the Valley Country Market at the Soto and Ventura. Now, we're going to be checking out the Valley Salt Cave. I don't really know much about Salt Caves and how salt helps you holistically. So, I'm really excited to find out about that. Now, this place has gotten a ton of five-star review. So, when you get this many five-star reviews across all of the platforms, you know you're doing something right. So, we're going to learn their story today and how being in a Salt Cave can help your body and recover from so many different at six. Hey, Carrie. Warren, great to be here. Nice to meet you. Alright, thanks for having us. Alright, so the number one question I have to ask 'cuz there are not a lot of salt caves here in Southern California. How did you decide to open a salt cave? So, we about four years ago, well, actually about five or six years ago, Warren's sister opened one in New York and we were partners with her in that one and we were going back and forth to New York to set it up behind the scenes for her and I have some autoimmune diseases. I wanted to experience what she was offering. She was opening holistic wellness centre in a salt cave and I wanted to go to what she was creating and I came back to LA looking around and I'm like there are no salt caves in LA was very surprising to me. So so we decided to open one. Let's talk a little bit about your local because there's a pretty cool story behind that. Farm take the logo. So Kari actually designed the logo. The logo is tabled out in Cape Town which is the top of it. We met I grew up in Johannesburg in South Africa. Went to Cape Town on holiday at the end of high school. Ended up studying there for five years and working there. And Cory and I met in Cape Town. Uh we worked at Arthur Anderson Anderson Consulting. And so we wanted to have the logo represent the place we met. Feel in love and got married 30 years ago. When someone come in here for the first time. It's a pretty neat experience just having all this salt around before they even get to the salt caves. Yeah. So people are usually very surprised. So they'll come in thinking we just sell salt. You know table salt or Himalayan salt or you know things like that and then they do get a very big surprise when they walk further back. And to you know you don't expect this in a strip more than with absolutely absolutely for sure but you know look the five star reviews you know speak for themselves right so where does where do you get your salt because obviously most people aren't looking to buy this type of salt so all our salt is sourced from the Himalayan mountains in Pakistan we have a supplier who's actually in LA and they are ethical they import all their products from their own minds in Pakistan and it's all ethically sourced, fair trade, the leaping bunny certified. They also have like a a beauty product line. But their food and their salt is all food grade as well. So all the salt in the salt cave is safe to eat. I personally wouldn't eat it by now. But it is salt safe to eat. Alright well that's good. I'll keep that in mind. This all sounds fantastic. Let's go back and see what the caves look like. Great. Follow us. So wherever you would like to sit this looks like a good one. So welcome to Valley Salt Cave. As you can see you're in our large cave. There is about eight tonnes of salt in this room. So all the walls are made out of Himalayan salt. The rough walls are salt rock. The flat walls and where we walked in is salt brick and there's about three inches of salt on the floor. So all our caves we actually have three caves. This is the big one are active salt caves which means that they all have their own machine called a halo generator over there. Attached to them. We put a small amount of pure surgical grade salt into this machine. It grinds the salt grains into particles the size of a red blood cell. That gets aerosed into the room. You breathe it in. It goes into your lungs and essentially acts like a toothbrush for your lungs. So, it helps your lungs clean themselves of everything we breathe every day and this helps with everything from allergies, asthma, sinus, issues and snoring all the way through to more serious issues like post-covid lung repair, people with mold in their bodies or lungs, people who are recovering from upper respiratory illnesses. It also helps detox you, helps with stress and anxiety, salt is a natural mood elevator. It helps reduce inflammation in your body. It's great for skin health and also really helps with sleep issues so you going to sleep really well tonight. Like the sound of that. And so this you're in a zero gravity chair. Uh all you do is kick back with your heels and tip your body backwards. I will help you with your blanket. And tell me a little bit about the blanket. So the blankets are just they're all clean. Give you a clean blanket to use. And they're just cosy because as your body temperature lowers a little bit. The caves are cool anyway. They set at about 70degrees. It's better for your body and your lungs to breathe cool and in a cool environment. So you will not see the salt but you are definitely going to taste it. Um on your lips and we are going to be playing a guided meditation, a short guided meditation and gentle relaxing music. And then how long normally are the session? So the sessions are 45 minutes long. We have guests who come regularly who come to sleep or they come because you know they are stressed out so they just chill out and listen to the guided meditation or they just go to sleep. Um our small cave which we can show you later. Um we also allow families with young children. So we this helps kids. We used to have a lot of moms who use it when their children have allergies or a runny nose or ear infections and things like that. So it helps with that. It's like a first B first line of defense for a lot of moms. Wow I didn't know that. And you guys also have a massage room. We do. So we also offer massages. Biopo massages and we also do private energy healing. We have healers who do reiki and massages all by appointment. You would call in give us the day and time you want and then we reach out to our therapist and they come in for your particular appointment. We can show you the the massage cave later as well. Um this cave we also use for sound baths. We do events in here every Saturday and Sunday and also a couple of times during the week. Um we have different sound baths every weekend. We've got crystal alchemy bulbs, a a chakra tuning sound bath. We do a full moon sound bath every month and we also do a sound bath that is about whatever is happening in the moon. This coming month it's going to be eclipse. Post eclipse sound bath because we coming out of eclipse season. Alright well that sound that all sounds great. I am ready to take a nap. Wonderful. Well enjoy and we will pop back in and see you later. Alright. Guys, I would love to know what you guys think of the Ballet Salt Cave. So, these guys again are located here in Woodland Hills, California. They're in a shopping center, the Ballet Country Market on the north side of the street at DeSoto Avenue and Ventura Boulevard. So, so many great things that you can do. We're always talking about taking care of your body, right? So, this is a great holistic experience and approach and it able to solve so many different ailments that so many different people have. So, come and check these guys out. If you don't believe me, just look at all their five-star reviews online. Like always, that pretty much speaks for itself. So, come and check these guys out. They have all these cool events here. Something for everybody whether it just be yourself or with your partner or your family. I'm going to have to definitely be bringing my kids here to kind of check it out as well. So, again, let us know in the comments below which you think about the Valley Salt Cave and we'll see you next on Eat Live Love San Fernando Valley and in the meantime, I'm going to go and take a nap.

Read on for more and don’t forget to follow me @brittanyvheats to learn about more fun places to eat, drink, and hang out in LA. These chocolate croissants are widely considered to be the best in LA, and were even once written about by Eater as being the “ultimate” chocolate croissant. While I still have a ton to try before I can confidently make that decision myself, it’s certainly easy to see why people say that. They’re flaky, buttery, and filled with the perfect amount of high quality chocolate — chocolate that these actually make themselves. The entire process takes 3 days, and if you go on a weekend, you’re sure to see a line out the door of people excited to taste t
