German Straw Christmas Ornaments -Make or Buy Them!

Despite looking complicated, you can make German stars in under 5 minutes. Ornaments are made from 4 colored paper strips and a few simple repeated folds.

But they are made of wood and are not edible. The lebkuchenherzen — the more specific name for the heart-shaped lebkuchen — have become a staple in German celebrations, especially around Christmas time.
