Kitchen/Dining Ideas we love: - white and Light gray color palette - Simple, sleek look - Enclosed floor to ceiling handleless cabinets - appliance garage with fold in door - Kitchen island countertop doesn't hang over sides and tuck in stools (so kids can't bump their heads into corners or trip over stools) Bedroom / Bathroom: A. Showers: - one handle for hot/cold water - Recess for storing shampoo/conditioner etc. (or if more cost effective, small ledge/extension from wall using same materials for storage at chest height?) - Glass doors to close off shower completely - dual shower head including detachable shower head - Plenty of rails to hang towels B. Toilets: - Built in kids seat (for powder room and kids bath only) - Paper holder positioned by side of toilet (not against wall where you have to reach behind) C. Vanities: - large mirrors (make room larger?) - sink flush with top and hidden in cupboard - one handle for hot/cold water - plenty of storage D. Wardrobes: - sliding doors - storage organization to contain drawers, shelves and hanging rails Living: - Colour - warm/neutral palette with splash of blue (we have a painting we wonder if we should put in here?) - TV wall - accent (either ensuite wall or space around TV), enclosed storage for bulky items (e.g., cable boxes etc.), simple floating shelves for a few display items - Old fireplace wall - recessed with simple floating shelves (perhaps connecting to TV wall) or to display a painting we have? - Wall by entry - family photo gallery wall or to display a painting we have? Stairs: - floating on main floor to create welcome area and on second floor for storage (linens) Laundry: - matching side by side front loaders (min 5 cubic ft), preferably on pedestals - sink in laundry room (to soak stained clothes and hand wash) - storage for detergent etc. - space for built in drying racks / hanging wet clothes conveniently - note: store hampers (3 large), ironing board, iron, and a portable drying rack under stairs by laundry room, if possible? Exterior: - Warm exterior that's makes home "pop", look more contemporary but not too modern - Save repainting costs and update exterior look by changing tiles and stairs (the top 2 things we find most unattractive) to a dark grey? - Should window trims be white/black/grey? - Should garage doors be replaced? - What color should front door be? OUTDOOR Ideas we love: - Clean and simple backyard that's low maintenance - Outdoor BBQ (with sink and storage) - Outdoor fireplace - Lighting of stairs
