And the first one is going to be a bow where you can just refresh pieces of ribbon that you've got left over. I am going to use three pieces of this one and a half inch wired ribbon. And then the rest of it I'm just cutting two links of each color. And these are all at 12 inches. And the small thinner pieces of ribbon don't have wire in them but this is a great way to use up you know little pieces of anything you've got left I'm even using this little gold strand and you'll see that this stacks up really cute and it's the perfect way you know to refresh those pieces that otherwise wouldn't get used so I'm adding another couple of red wired pieces and these are going to go close to the top and then I've got this tubing from Dollar Tree I'm going to cut three pieces of this and one of the pieces I'm going to reserve to tie it all together now you can use this method with anything you've got you could use yarn you could use cut pieces of fabric you can use just like I'm doing with wired and non-wired ribbon this is like the most versatile do anything I'm I'm kind of calling it like a goulash of ribbon you know what I'm saying you can put any color anything use this one anytime of the year and all you do is cut to whatever size you want. Now this one's all 12 inches. You could do smaller. You could do larger. You could start out large and get gradually get smaller. Y'all anything. You can just do anything with it. And if you're wanting more of a farmhouse look you can add raffia. Oh gosh. The you know you hear me. It's endless what you can do with this one. And this is a great one for door tags and and gifts and anything. Okay now this one is Each item is cut to nine inches each piece of ribbon and it's all wired and then I'm going to fold it over to leaving about three or four inches of a tail and then you can check and make sure all your loops are the same size. I just kind of grab it, fold it over about three quarters of the way and then kind of measure it against the other loops and for this one, you could use all the same color ribbon. I used three different colors, total of nine pieces and also I'm using a cable tie with this so once I get them all cinched together and this is another one that you can make any size you want or use any size ribbon and then I'm going to pull this really tight to hold this together and y'all this is a great one to fluff out and staple to like your round boards and stuff because it lays fairly flat on the bottom just because of the way it's constructed you can dovetail the ends if you like that's what I'm doing with this one and just dovetailing everyone folding in the center and then cutting it at an angle but that's totally optional I always have people saying you know how did you make that ribbon or this or that and listen just fluff everything out and this could be used anytime of the year with any color ribbon also and like I said it kind of lays flat on the bottom perfect for wreaths okay now this is a simple awareness bow but cut two pieces at 12 inches so this one's going to have four tails it'll have two loops and four tails but it is super simple too and this one I like it it lays you know kind of flat and it's perfect if you want to add a little ornament an orange slice you know whatever kind of in the middle and I'll show you with this little truck that I've got you can, you know, just about place anything in the center and it looks super cute and this you can make any size too but so you can hot glue an ornament in the middle. From classic reds to whimsical red and... | By Southern Charm Wreaths | In this video, I want to make my signature funky bow. I created this bow in 2011 when I was teaching the art of decomesh wreath making in my Ebook, Learn Deco Mesh Wreaths Design and I had so many people asking me, what do we do with these little strips of ribbon and so I created this funky bow. It's called funky bow. You're just taking little strips of ribbon and you add them and to to form a bow but I wanted to show it this way using all the same ribbon so that you can get a visual of how pretty it looks. Um to me, it's a very easy bow to make. Alright, so what we're going to do is we're going to lay these on top of each other and then these are five strips and I cut them 30 inches long. So, I'm going to fold this in half and we're going to cut a dovetail. So, on the fold, cut to the corner This is a thick velvet but how pretty is all that gold and emerald green. Such a really pretty traditional color combination. Alright, let's layer these. We're going to fold the silver. Envision doing this for your spring bows y'all. This is so pretty. Alright, we're going to dovetail just like that. Okay, so we've got our thirty-inch streamers. I'm going to do this version on the easy bow maker. What we want is we are going to create three loops on one side, two loops on the other side and we want our eight-inch streamers. So, I'm going to first put this in vertically to my eight-inch streamer and then, I'm going to twist and I'm going to create my six-inch loop right here. Put it in clay and we don't twist just like that. So we got a loop one. Okay? We're going to do the same exact thing. An eight-inch streamer but reverse. We're on the opposite side now. We're going to make sure that we are streamer is the pretty side. Okay, we've got the ugly side over here but we're going to flip it up towards us and we're going to create our six-inch loop and then we don't need to twist because we're just going to push this down. Alright, so now we've got two streamers on two sides and we got two loops on either side. Just like up so we're going to come back over to this side again and we're going to put in our so last time we started I can't remember I don't think it matters so we're going to come this way alright so now I'm going to put in my little eight-inch streamer and I'm going to twist the bad side of the ribbon is facing forward I'm going to measure out to my six inches on the bow maker okay and then I don't need to pinch I mean twist I'm just going to pinch lay it down so here's another loop another loop want to make sure these are roughly the same size let me pull that in a little bit Alright, so we're going to do another loop on this side. So, we're going to do our eight-inch streamer, twist, right here. Create this loop. The backside of the ribbon is going to flip over. We're going to create our six-inch loop and then push down. So, we've got two loops on either side and we're going to do the same thing with our last streamer, 6 inches, twist, make a six-inch loop, Push it down. Just like that. I think it's a little long. I'm going to pull this one out. Making sure that these are as much as the same size as we can get. Okay. Just like that. All we did was alternate the same formula, the same exact method but just alternate it back and forth. Alright, so now I'm going to pull this off I'm going to make sure I don't lose all my layers. I'm going to put my wire on. Roll it around before I twist it off this is where I'm going to do some shaping these little streamers need to go to the back alright so I'm trying to move my streamers to the back alright and then our loops are going to go to the front loop is to the front streamer in the back loop to the front let's do that streamer back here and then we'll pull this loop up to the front. This looks awfully big. Let me pull that down. Make sure they're all the same size Okay? This one just looks a little bit bigger but I don't think it is. Alright. Now, going to go ahead and twist it off. So, we're going to pull the bow towards me and the wire away from me at the same time. Give it a little bit of a twist. Now, this one didn't twist as much because it's got a lot of velvet on it. I'm just going to take my needle needle nose wire pliers and give a little twist without breaking the wire. So, just do it once or twice. No more than that. Okay. So, lay it down and then should have a really pretty what I call funky bow and it's okay that you have a lot of streamers but you're also wanting to see the loop. So, bring those forward too. Spread and fan that out and then we can dovetail these a little bit shorter and there you have a really pretty bow I call the funky bow so our signature funky bow
