Learn the Best Method for making Mesh Angel Wing Wreath DIY Tutorial | Learn the Best Method for making Mesh Angel Wing Wreath DIY Tutorial Lets learn how to create a beautiful Angel Wings wreath that turns out every time! | By Karlas Klever Krafts | Hey, everybody. It is Marla with Carla's Clever Crafts. I am logging on today. We're going to do a tutorial on making an angel wing wreath and did a lot of practicing and stuff today. Um to make sure I was doing my pedal so the lay the way that I want them to. Um so, I'm going to show you guys a couple tips and tricks that I discovered just through my own, you know, lots of people have done these angel wing wreath wreaths but there's a couple things that I discovered just through my own experimentation that I want to share with everybody. Um so, we're going to do that we're going to be using several things today that are out of my normal wheelhouse. We're going to use the heart frame. This heart frame is I believe it's a twelve-inch frame. It's the one from the Dollar Tree. Um they usually have these at Valentine's Day. I don't know if any of your stores will have them now. Um but I know some of you who are like me you keep stock of stuff like this. So, we're going to use that and we're going to make Angel Wings and we're going to actually clip the bottom off to it shaped like this one And I'll show you how I did that and just so you guys can see it's a pretty easy process. Um what we do but we're going to turn this heart into something like this that kind of gives us the outline shape for the angel wings. I'm going to sit that one to the side because I'm going to actually cut this so you guys can see how I did it. Um I'm going to use these. It's just a pair of wire cutters. These are really old. So, I just have to make sure I have a nick in mine here. I'm going to have to make sure I'm not cutting where the nick is. And when I did it, just cut, there's a crossbar right here. We want to make sure that we're cutting underneath that crossbar and not, you know, up above it or right on it. So, I'm just going to put my wire cutter right under it. Snap. I'm going to go over here to the other side. Do the same thing. And then move that out of our way and now, we need to do the second one. So, I'm just going to come into it next. And then we're going to do the other side I think I'm making this look harder than it is. It's really not that hard. Okay and then with this last piece on the inside we're going to sniff it the same way Trying to get as close as I far. Because I don't want to leave big pieces of metal sticking out down here to tear up the mesh or to poke myself with later. So, that leaves us with this. Um basically, a heart with no bottom and so to get the angel wing design, we just need to like gently pull out on the bottom down here like this and you can pull out as far as you want. Um I'm going to stop right about there and then after I put all my petals and stuff on, if I feel like I need to make some more adjustment, then, I'll do that. Don't pull so hard though that you break your frame. It is a metal wire frame but they do break. So, be careful of that. Okay, Imma talk a little bit about the petals. Next, Okay. So, when I was making my petals today, I discovered that when I was thinking of my design in my head and angel wings that I've seen in the past, I wanted it to come down off of the bottom of my frame here the way that I envision when I see Angel Wings. So, this side would curl inward and this side would curl inward the other way. Okay, I hope that makes sense. So, we'll probably hear as I keep going. So, when I Is making my pedal. I noticed that they all were swooping out this way. So all my tails were coming out this way. and I thought, you know, that's not what I want. So, then, I thought I would get smart and just flip this. inside out. So, that it would curl the other way. That didn't work and here's why. This is what happens when you try to flip it out. If you see these that I have done correctly, if I put them on their side, they kind of stand up. This one won't do that. It it just lays flat. And it also leaves the cut edge up. So if you just make it one way and then fold you know flip it inside out to get your tail to go the opposite direction. Then you end up with your cut side exposed. Okay so we don't want to do that. I'm going to flip this one back to the correct way. Let's see which one. Okay, so this matches these. Okay. So, when I put these petals, not these petals, these petals. These petals beside each other, that will give you a better idea of what I'm talking about, how that tail curls out and so, I need to make sure, I'm going to put the same number of petals on each side of my angel wing wreath and so I need to make sure that I make petals that will go in opposite directions and then, I'm probably going to be using thirty-6 petals on this wreath. So, that would mean that I need 18 going one way 18 going the other way. Alright. So, let's actually do some here and see if that makes sense. Let me get these together. My ones that are going the direction. I'm going to try to keep them separated so that when I'm laying them in, I'm putting the right ones So, when I was making these, I discovered, we're going to use, I'm using two different mesh types tonight. Let me discuss that first. We're going to, I'm going to use, this is a poly burlap, white mesh and this is a metallic white mesh. This one is really thin and sheer. I liked it because of the iridescent, shiny. It just gave me angel vibes. You know, I think of Angels is very beautiful and glistening and all of that but I was afraid to use just this because I was afraid that I wouldn't get good enough coverage on my wreath frame. So, then, I decided that I also wanted texture, you know, different types of texture. So, I pulled out this poly burlap and we're going to use the two together. I don't know how that's going to turn out but we're going to find out. So, these are what we're going to be using. Both are ten-inch meshes and both of these came from Craft Outlet. All of the pieces are cut to 10 inches. So, if you do this angel wing wreath, just know that you you're going to need to do quite a bit of cutting and you're going to need 3-six I think is what I'm going to end up using. I'll give you a final count at the end. So you're going to need 36 pieces cut at 10 inches. Okay? So the way that I make the angel wing, this is where I need to talk about where you're going to do half of them one way, half of them the other way. And I hope I can keep this straight enough for you guys to understand. Hi Carrie. Hi, Shannon. Okay. So, to make the angel wing, I need to fold corner to corner. We have a perfect square. We're going to fold corner corner which is going to give us essentially a triangle. Okay. So, when I was doing these without even thinking it through, I was folding them all the same way. Thinking it's still square. We're going to make a triangle. It's not going to make any difference. It does make a difference though and I discovered that once I had all my petals done, I had to go back and do more. So, if you fold with the, let me do it this way first. If you fold with this cutted edge, the cut edge to your left and this finished on the bottom. Like this, that gives you this petal, I think. Yes, that gives you your cut-edge up on this side, okay? So, what that means is we're going to, I'm going to go ahead and finish this one but don't worry, I'll discuss all the steps. I just want to discuss the folding first and show you what happens with that. So, you understand that you have to fold nine of them one way and nine or no. 18 on each side. Now, I've gotten my count mixed up you guys. We're going to put eighteen on each side. So, you need 36 total pieces of mesh. Okay. So, the cut edge is up on this side and down on this side. So, when you make this petal that looks like this, you're going to gather it like I did and then, you're going to fold this over. So, we're going to turn this into one more densely-colored petal and we're just going to twist here until we get the look that we want. And what that did, when I folded it over, is that put my cut edge underneath my finished edge on the top and this petal on the bottom. same thing. Cut, finished edge, cut edge is hidden in here, okay? So, that is a way that we can do these angel wings and keep cut edges covered and then the, you know, they'll be even more protection with the layering that we're going to do but we'll talk about that more in a minute. Okay. So, this one, I folded the opposite way with my cut-edge up on the opposite side. So, the one that we just did was cut edge up on this side. This one is edge up on the opposite side. So now, watch what happens. I'm going to fold it over so the cut edge goes underneath It's kind of complicated to explain. I hope I get this clear enough. If not, we'll redo videos till our bait gets it. Cuz it really, I think is going to make a difference in the final design. So now, our finished it. Our cut edges underneath, Our finished edges on top. Same with the bottom part of the petal or wing or feather or whatever we're going to call this and the cut edges underneath. So, it's protected. We did both these but folded them differently in the beginning and now we have one tail going this way and one tail going this way. Okay? So that's what we're shooting for is half and half. What you do to get that but you change is simply whether you fold from the bottom right to the left top or the bottom left to the top right. Okay. So, if I go bottom left to top right I'm going to line up this edge the best that I can right here. The next thing that we're going to do and now we have when we fold, we've got our cut edge up towards us. And it's on my left-hand side. I know you guys are reversed like probably a mirror image. So, it's on my left-hand side, probably your right. To make this, we're just going to scrunch up the middle, pull this back together and pull these two down and that gives us what looks like angel wings. Okay? Then, we're going to pinch this at the top. And we're going to use little, all I have are these blue rubber bands. Well, I had bright blue, bright, purple, bright, orange. So, I'm using the blue, these little bands do come in different colors. You can, I've even seen them in clear which would have been ideal for this. Okay. So, it's like a cocoon raw edges. Yeah. Excited to see it with the heart. It is a better size. I like the size better with the heart. Um there are videos out there doing it with the carrot wreath frames from the Dollar Tree but I think those would be humongous and I want these to be for mainly memorial wreath s. So, I like the size of the heart better for that. Okay. So, cut edge is still up on my left, okay? I'm going to fold that pedal with the cut edge on top. Over. I'm pushing this in. Just kind of looping it like forming it together. And if it doesn't stay where you where you're positioning it, you can just slide your rubber band down a little bit and it will hold it and so now, we have another one going this way. okay? Now, which way you lay em on the frame, you know, is entirely up to you whether you want Whether you want em to come out this way or whether you want them to come in this way is entirely up to you. But I think it is important to follow these steps and these instructions and use the same design consistently. So, whichever way you start out, whether it's the tail coming in or the I think it's important that you remain consistency on both sides. Okay. So, let's do a couple more of these together. But we're going to do more than a couple. Okay. So, perfect square. We need to make a folded from corner to corner and make a rectangle. We need to alternate which cut side is up. So, or you could do them all in order. So, like you could do, okay, now the cut side on this one, I went from bottom, my bottom, right, to the top left, that puts the cut edge on top. Okay? So, you could go ahead and do 18 like this because you know, you need 36 petals. I spoke all wrong in the beginning. I'm nervous, you guys. Um so, 36 petals total. So, you're going to need 18 like this. You could do eighteen holding them all the same with the cut edge on the same side but then, just know when you start your next eighteen, switch the way that you fold. So, you're folding from the bottom left to the top right. Okay? And lining up your edge. That way, when you do your next eighteen, you're going to end up with all your cut edges folded under and your tails going the opposite directions. Okay. Now, we'll move on from that. Another thing I noticed, I'm going to demonstrate with this mesh because this metallic mesh is much more springy and harder to control. It's all over the place. Another thing I noticed making these that I wanted to point out to you guys is when I first started trying to do this fold, I was like trying to fight this side and this side and make em both line up at exactly the same time. This one kind of did easily for me which was a bad demonstration but some of them, I just could not get both sides to line up. Well, actually, this one's off over here a little bit but some of them are worse than that especially when you get to the cut pieces that are closer, tighter into the roll and they curl up more. Those were even harder. What I started doing that made it so much easier for me is when I came up here to the point, I just focused on one side. So, I'm going to just focus on lining up this side. Down through here. Okay? And keep my points up there. You can see this is doing something completely crazier here. I ignored that and just went ahead and came up the middle here. And pulled it back and it just automatically, like, if you line up one side, the other side is going to automatically follow. So, I was wasting a lot of time trying to get both sides to line up before I scrunched it. That wasn't necessary. I hope that helps somebody. And like I said, I had made all the petals for this design tonight only to realize that all of my petals were going in the same direction. So, I hope I hope that also helps somebody. Okay. So, I've got a cut edge up on this side. Here's another thing. I thought I was being smart earlier and I thought, well, if the cut edge is up on this side, if I flip it over and fold it, will the tail go the opposite direction and that doesn't work either. They still come out going the same direction. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and fold this one and finish it. Okay, I will actually finish the poly burlap ones. Slide this down just a little bit. Let it separate. I have petals everywhere Okay so I gotta remember which way I needed these to go. Think I needed the cut edge to the left. If not, I'll have to redo em. Okay. So, I've lined up. Now, the poly burlap lines up much easier and much nicer as far as putting these together. Um the struggle was not near as much as with the metallic mesh. It was a little bit harder to work with. So, then, once we get our triangle, we just scrunch little bits at a time up the middle. And pinch this tip in. These are just going to form naturally back towards you and they kind of look like Angel wings. Then, you're just going to hold them here and pinch together at the top so that you can put a band around this. Go ahead and put your band Okay. My cut edge is up on this side so I know that I need to fold that over and down And then when you do that, you automatically get like this bubble that forms especially noticeable with the poly burlap mesh. Well, it is with the other two. You can kind of see you have like, it goes up like a little bit. Same thing with the poly burlap. You you have like this indention on the bottom. So, you have like this on the top and then it comes down to the tail if you tried to just flip that to get music going the opposite direction, it you you lose that bubble effect. It it basically just kind of becomes flat. I don't know how to describe it but it's not the same shape and and you have your edge exposed on top of that. So, I decided that I was going to just go ahead and cut a bunch more as opposed to trying to flip them inside out. Okay, I'm going to fold this one the same way. I want my cut edge to the left because I think I actually had more of them already made with the cut edge to the right. Scrunch up the middle. Pinch your tip back and I just turn it to the side because that's easier for me and pull my little angel wings down Pinch it. Put a little band on it. Make sure you're coming down far enough that this is going to hold everything together and then we're going to fold the cut side so that it's down. And I did wood burn all of this mesh just so you know because I've been messing with the smesh all day long. Um so I'm glad that I did wood burning. Okay. So, that's what we have for petals. Now, let's I have a couple more here but I think I already have enough made up. We'll see and to be honest, full disclosure, I haven't decided fully which way I want to lay them on the wreath. So, we're going to do that now. We're going to use zip ties to attach to the frame and I'm going to start with Uh think I'm going to start with a burlap. I'm just going to place em here and see. Okay, so that's if I put them on this side. That's how much they're going to come in. And then if I put them on this side with the tails curling out, I don't know. I can't decide. Ow. What type of mesh looks better on this type of wreath. Uh hi, Nancy. Um I'm I'm going to go with probably the poly burlap or something with more substance. So, maybe like the fabric mesh would probably work well. Um the poly burlap would look well. Um you're going to see this is a very thin metallic mesh. So, you'll see how that comes out with this design. Um I like originally intended to use only this mesh but once I started thinking about the sheerness of it and the petal and everything. I I just became Little bit leery that we might be able to see through it. There's going to be a lot of overlay. So, that might take care of that. I'm not sure. Um but we'll see. Okay, so my husband says that I should put the curls out. So, I guess that's what we're going to do. It's a clever feather. That's funny. It's it's not a clever feather. I did not create this. I think I might have just improved on instructing how to do it. Maybe. Um with because I've watched tutorials before and none of them explained making sure that you fold differently in the beginning so that you get tails. So you have consistency with the tails. So but I did not create those. My husband is funny. So it's like a cocoon, raw edges inside. Yes, absolutely Leanne. You like the poly burlap better? Because of the shape of the petals. Yes, you can tell and and that's going to depend on what you like, you know, as far as petals and stuff go. Shannon does a lot of work with pedals, you guys. So, she's a great resource. This, you can clearly see the difference in the design. You, these are cut exactly the same size and everything and you can clearly see the difference in like the shape. This one is longer and more narrow. This one is smaller and more uniform. These tips are curling under a little bit. I don't think that's going to be a big deal though because we're going to be doing some layering. So, that's going to prevent those from curling under. We're going to see and we're going to see how many pieces I ultimately end up using. Okay, so let me get some zip ties ready. I had them right here on the table. Okay, here we go. So, we're going to just zip tie them to the frame and see what happens And who knows? I may get midstream on this wreath and decide I'm not going to even use these which means then I have a ton of these petals. I don't know what I'm going to do with them. But let's just get started and see. I do know that I want the white on the bottom. So I am going to I don't want to make the bottom too wide. I want it to be kind of narrow and get fuller as it goes up. So I'm only going to zip tie two down here at the bottom. I'm actually probably going to do it on the outside bar. I think it's where I did them before. So, let's just try the outside bar. Now, if you know exactly where you're placing, you can put these zip pads on ahead of time and then just slide these underneath but I don't know. We're going to we're going to experiment with this together. I've made these before but it's been a very long time. And I think I only did one honestly. Okay. I've learned a lot since that time. And then, yeah, because I want it to be kind of like a tip down here. So, I'm going to put one on the outside here, one on the inside ring and this really shiny metallic mesh might just end up becoming an accent. Those things are dull. So now, the next question is, how thick do I want it to be? Do I want one in the middle? And I gotta remember to make sure my tails are all going the same way. Now, I don't want that. Those are not going the right way. I don't like how that's flipping out so much. So, doing three is out of the question Doing only one. Is maybe in the question. Gonna experiment a second, guys. And that's about how I want them to lay but I can't decide whether I want to use this metallic mesh or not. I think I'm going to go with the metallic mesh and do two and then go back to the white and do too. I'm going to attach this one on the middle ring. And I'm actually not placing it directly above. I'm coming up about 2 inches. This is why I said it. I thought. I knew how many I was going to use but I wasn't 100% sure. Because I watch how other people did it but I wanted to kind of experiment with doing my own way like I always do. The heart is 12 inches. Okay, so that tail is going out and this tail is going out. I've gotta make sure I'm using the same one. Alright, I'm going to attach both of these on the center bar Putting one right above the other. You guys bare with me if I end up doing something like this and I don't like it. I'm going to just take it back off and do it again. But I think I like those both coming from the middle and then I've just kind of adjusted the tails where I think I want them to layer. I think we are going to have to pull our frame apart more. Now, I'm going to go ahead and come to this side and repeat what I did here so that I don't forget because I want both sides. Most importantly, to be uniform. Okay and I need to make sure I'm using the right tails. These are all going that way. So this one is going that way. This side. Okay. So, you can see how my tails are like curling down and out and then on this side, we're going to have it going the opposite way. Do the same thing. I went on the outside and the inside bar. So, I'm going to do that. And I am right at the bottom of the bar here with these first two petals. You've not been able to find it at the Dollar Tree. Kelly, that is the problem with the Dollar Tree frames and I've noticed a lot of people, I didn't think about it until I started making these designs. I always, they come out with them seasonally. So, for example, the heart comes out at Valentine's Day and then, you, that's it. So, if your store has some leftover that they didn't sell, you'll be able to find it but if not, then, you're stuck until very next Valentine's Day. Um when the when they come out with these like these hearts for example, I make them at Valentine's Day and all throughout the year and I ordered a case of them. So, I ordered them online and ordered a whole case. My suggestion would be when you see those specialized frame frames that you know you might use for future projects. Go ahead and grab you several of them. Shannon, you're excited to do this. I'm excited to see you do this because you're so much more familiar and comfortable with pedals than I am. So, Alright, we'll still, we'll see what I can come up with. Alright. I had to make sure I'm getting these really tight, guys. Okay, so next I need to do Oh, that one is placing the right way. So, I need to do two of these and I came up about 2 inches. So, I'm using my finger to measure. My husband makes fun of me but I know that from my knuckle to knuckle there is one inch. So, I use that to measure in a pinch. I moved my cutting mat off of the table because I wanted you guys to be able to see and it's green which made hard to see everything. So, I took off for this project because I knew I was going to have a little bit of trouble explaining what I was saying about these It's like going the right way. Yes, okay. I tried to put the petals going one way to one side of me and the ones going the other way to the other side of me. So, not sure how this is going to work out for me. Cuz you know what? This thing is doing all kinds. I'm going to take this off. It's going all kinds of crazy ways. And I think it's because I had, yeah, it goes on the other side So, we need to redo that. I think these are really fun for memorial designs And think about it. Not just Memorial Day but any time of the year. Um you could make these Christmas. You could make these Easter. You could make these birthday. Pretty much any occasion and depending on how long this takes me. I do have stuff to decorate it with. I'm going to make a bow for it and probably use some florals. Um we'll see how long it takes me. We might might save decorating for tomorrow. Okay, so now I need one more of these an angel Christmas tree. Oh, so Amazon has a heart frame. Very cool And honey, what did you say about Christmas trees? Well, our Angel Oh, yeah. I forgot. We my husband's mentioning for our grandchildren. Um we have a birthstone angel that represents each one of our grandkids and we have I think it's 21 now. Either 20 with 21 on the way or 21 with 22 on the way. I'm not sure which. But it's a lot. And I'm just kind of positioning and trying to place these as I go before I cinch them down. I'm not sure if they're going to stay like that. We'll see. Okay. So, now, I need, I'm going, we've caught up. I have two on the center bar, two on the center bar which I could've potentially done like inside outside, you know, but I wanted to do the these two on that outside right there. So, I'm going to start with one here and yeah, I think I'm going to want to spread my heart out a lot more. So, I'm on the inside, back on the inside bar now and now I need to go back out to the outside bar. Did I explain? Do you guys, do you guys all understand what I'm saying about the petals and how folding them differently gives you the different look. I hope I explained that good. Know what I'm trying to say but sometimes I don't know if I put it in words, right? Okay, so I did this one on the inside. Now, I'm out here on the outside. Oh. I'm losing control of everything. Okay, I'm just going to try to line them up there Okay and I do want I think one more of those. Okay, so I want to come up because this thing is really filling up fast which might be something. I maybe I should have scooted these up some. Because I'm definitely, I was concerned with see through, with the layering, that does not seem to be an issue. What does seem to be an issue is how full it's getting by putting them too close together. So, I'm going to actually adjust a little bit. I'll come back down just a little. Now, I do want one in the middle here I don't want it down that far. Okay. So, I think what I'm going to do is come do the middle but I'm going to come up because I don't want to hide all of this iridescent look I have going on here because I am kind of liking that. So, I'm going to come right above the crossbar here on the heart and put one. This is called Design As You Go. Alright. So, now we need to work back on the outside too here and I think what I'm going to do is iridescent and iridescent and see what that looks like. Or maybe I should do the white on this side first so I don't get confused. Let's do that. Let's just keep going Working our way up. Okay, so now I need to get my petals from over here. So that they're facing the right way. Okay, so we did the outside. So, I'm going to take the outside one braid almost next to where I have the top iridescent one Alright and now we need another one which I think these are the right ones. So, yeah Now, this one, I came up quite a bit, I think. Oh, no. It's pretty much right even with where this top one is too. Let's say, in the middle here where I had put the two iridescent on top of one another. These two, I tied just adjacent to that. So, Oops. I got my zip tie backwards or I have a bad zip tie. Let's turn it around and see. You had it backwards. We did this one on top, right? It's kind of fanning that way. So, let's go ahead and do the same thing here. Oh, we went above on this one. We went the middle one. I went above the crossbar. I'll have to watch my own video to repeat this, you guys. Which I'm going to do another one. Probably right after this. So, Okay. Now, we need a couple of iridescent and this iridescent phrase way worse too than the poly burlap even though I would burn it. I have a lot of fray here. Which is another reason that I really try to keep those cut edges on the bottom. Is I'm going to kind of tuck this one behind Hopefully, he's got him doing. I'm just lifting this up. I'm going to I'm going to actually attach this right at the crossbar. When I was searching online to look for designs and how I thought I wanted mine to look. When I did this tonight, I seen all kinds on there, you guys. They make them in all different colors. They had ombre ones that were really pretty. I didn't have the mesh for that though. So, and plus I already had my heart set on this white. Yeah, I like the shape that it's starting to take. So, I'm going to come over here on this crossbar and do another iridescent Make sure I pull it from the right side So, everything is going the same direction Shannon, are you still with me? Are you still on there? I got some news to tell you. Hi, Nancy. You would like to make one for your sister's gray. Yeah, I think they're perfect for that, Kelly. Hopefully, I'm explaining it to you in a way so that you can do one. Um I don't know what the price of them is on Amazon. Anytime you're buying something off season though, you're going to pay a lot more for it. Things you can get at the Dollar Store, you're going to pay a lot more for. If you're getting it off season, simply by the the nature of the fact that the Dollar Tree doesn't offer it off season. Okay. So, now, I'm going to come over here and do the same thing. Two pieces of iridescent. So, I need to pull from my box on this side. I did that to try to keep keep my sanity and try to keep from getting confused when I laid them in. I'll probably repeat that for the ones that I do even if I'm not live. These are like little feathers. When you first fold them, they look like here, here, you have, oh, I forgot you're having craft night. I am so sorry. Um quickly, when we watched your live earlier, my husband watched with me and he loved your wreath so much that he wants to know how much you charge for it and I said, honey, I can I can make you one and he said, yeah, but yours won't be as good as hers. I thought you would get a kick out of that. Okay, we need to do one more on the inside crossbar here. Yeah, that's the right side. See, I have em separated and I'm still getting confused. Yeah, it's funny, isn't it, Kelly? Um Yvonne, I think it's going to end up being around eighteen. I haven't made one for a long time but that seemed to be the number that a lot of other people want. I was watching, was using, but I won't know my final count until I get to the end because I'm really just doing this as I go and figuring out how many I'm going to use. Oh, give me a second and I will tell you how many I have so far. I do have to say this is going a little quicker than I thought it would. Okay, so far We have one, two, three, four, five, six, 7, eight, nine. We have nine on each side. So, I don't think I am going to be using eighteen. Which means I have a whole lot of petals. I'll be making more of these. Okay. Now I have to decide I almost wish I would've waited on this white in the middle Well, I'm going to leave it like that because I already have it in. But I almost wish I would have put another iridescent one there and then, brought this one up. Brought the white up higher. We'll just leave it since we've already done it though so you guys won't have to. That's so sweet. Shannon says. I think my husband's asleep. I have to tell him what you said when he when he wakes up. Okay, so we have We did two iridescent. I need to see if I'm going to do Another one in the middle Y'all this is a brand-new roll of mesh but that strip of in the middle of my white mesh looks dirty. I just rolled this off the roll. Hey. I have to replace that one later. And I think I'm going to go ahead and use some burlap So, I'm going to come to the inside I'm on the middle bar here with this piece of burlap. So, I'm just going to come to the inside. I'm going to position how I think I want it to lay here in the middle. So, really, I don't know if you guys can see how I've laid it kind of across the bar up here. So, pretty good gap there. And then and really when I'm determining my placement, I'm just kind of lay in the ring wings about where I want them to rest and that's how I'm determining where to put this part to do my to attach it. And then I need one more Okay, this one's definitely going to go on the outside bar. I don't like, I put it on the middle. I end up with this and I I want my my feathers to flow like we would envision if we're looking at an angel. So, I am probably about two inches out from the last one I attached down here and for those that was asking about the best type of mesh, I think it is shaping up to where this is really just a filler to add in like that shine. As opposed to like really creating any type of coverage or anything. I think most of the coverage is being done by the burlap. What if you reversed your pedals at the top? Have them come in Mm mm. I don't know yet. My husband's giving me tips over here guys. He's confusing me. Okay. So, did I do this side yet? No. Okay. So, we're going to do these two. Repeat them over here. Oops, we need to come out of this box. I'm just going to place it I think we were up a couple inches That seems wobbly to me. Let's see. I think when we add petals on top of it, it's going to steady it but that's concerning. Okay, so we need one more. And we did it on the inside. So, I'm just judging how far I am in from this crossbar here and I'm going to just try to do the same thing. I'll repeat, you know, simulate that over here from this crossbar. To try to keep it symmetrical. I don't like that wobbling petal on the outside, you guys. I may have to come up with some solution for that. And so now, we have the same. I want to try to get some more of this iridescent in here. I'm going to come down here and I'm going to put one directly above this one. I think I embarrassed my husband. He's listening to me outside now but when I said that to Shannon. Anyway, he might not have wanted me to say that. You can see this is what I was talking about with this thin metallic mesh. It's curl one up there on the ends. I think it's still pretty. I don't think it's going to hurt our design but just something to be aware of. Okay. And I think Now, I think I'm going to do one right above this outer petal also. You could have cut and attached custom mesh under the frame as it size to have more options. The one you may have used 18 on each side Yvonne I don't think I'm going to end up with that many but I might. You have to send me a picture of yours. I would love to see it and I think I'm going just a little more of this glitzy maybe. Okay. Yeah. I want it to lay. I want it to come over this petal. but in order to achieve that, it looks like I'm going to have to attach on this middle, middle one here. Again, right above where I did that one. This is why I like to do my designs as I go as opposed to just following a recipe. When I was new, I certainly followed recipes because I didn't know what on earth I was doing. But now I do it more by sight and just looking at the design and saying, oh, you know, I want some more shine here or I think I need more coverage there. Um so, it's fun to just kind of go out of your comfort zone and see what you could come up with And sometimes it's a fail. Sometimes it's a success. You never know. But we'll never know if we don't try. Yep. I like where that fell. I like the way that it's laying. I don't want this to end up flaring out too much up here. It's my main concern. That is one reason I thought about putting the tails like with these ends curling inward because you wouldn't have this up at the top. I don't know. I guess that would be preference which one we like the best. I think I'm going to do one this way. Then the next one I do. I think I'm going to reverse it. And then I'll have a comparison and I'll share that with you guys. So, we need to repeat the metallic mesh on this side Which side am I supposed to grab from? Yes, this side. Okay, so I think I did the first one right above this piece on the middle bar. I don't know if I should do so much experimentation on my lives. Um but I think it's good and the reason I do it is because yes I might do a live and it just be a complete fail. But I've learned more from failures than I have from successes. So I figured why not take the chance and share with everybody. It's I'm on live. Nobody can shoot me. Nobody can come knock on on my door. And I figure it would help you guys more than if you just save neat and tidy how to projects all the time. Okay. So, I also did one on the outside ring right above the last one. I grabbed from the wrong side. One thing I learned in looking on Google was that there were so many different angel wings and pedal types and styles and like they all look so different Um so, I guess that's the nature of creativity is that we all do. Even though we do, might do the same project following the same instructions. We all have our own spin on it. And then I need one more. Which I'm also attaching on this middle bar but I'm going to angle it so that it lays over this piece of white mesh here. I might have to order zip ties Sam. I've been using an unusual amount of zip ties. I hardly ever use as many as I have the last couple weeks. And then I will also fidget. You guys see me fidgeting a little bit with it but after I get done, I will fidget with it to make sure that everything's even and symmetrical on both sides. Okay, we've done a metallic. We've got three pieces on each side. Now, we need to do burlap. Oh, I see what my husband was saying about switching the directions at the top and that is very, very smart, you guys. He is very smart. So, he was saying that if I switched at the top, that's going to give me this rounded look that I was kind of wanting. Should we try that? I don't know going through a lot of oh okay. Here. Oh, is there tries to have more options of where to attach the petals. Oh, yeah, that is true, Shannon and I did not even think of that. That's a great idea. I could just now finish reading the rest of your comment. Um but yeah that's really smart. Cuz this is definitely got me limited as to where I'm putting them. Another thing would be I think I seen it when I was searching Younique in the Creek has a a board. One of their boards in the shape of Angel Wings. I don't know why it's so slipped out. You're going to make such a hard time. That might be a defective one. Let's try for another one Okay. I'm on the middle wire. I don't think I mentioned that and I'm going to cinch this down right there with that laying in the middle. I really like it. I'm going to go ahead and attach this one on this side. Symmetrical. Getting very close to the top of it here. Okay. Now, this one is made for the side. So, let's see. So, this one, I'm going to place Again, it's probably more like an inch and a half above, I think For now, I'm going to come. I'm going to come up quite a bit. It's probably more like 2 inches. Because that's giving me that kind of curve I want there. I'm going to use all those already. I'm using my hand to kind of hold this where I want them in place by just laying it on there as I pull this down. Okay and then come over here and do the same thing. Might have to make some petals Let's see. I've got these. Which side do these go with? This side. These all go with this side. So, what do you guys think of it with the iridescent mesh? Yes, I should have done all white. Yes, you like the glittery look at it in. Not sure Okay, I definitely want a little bit more glitz added in here Let's try this. Does anybody know what the little tool is called that you can cinch down your zip ties with and it also clips it off I'm totally investing in one of those. I think that I just I felt like I wanted a little bit more of the glitz in there. I knew that we had added some underneath of there already but I just wanted a little bit more The right side. Can't believe I'm running out of petals. Feel like I made petals all day, you guys. I'll be darned if I didn't make it. And it's for that side. That one is for that side. This week. Just for that side. So, I think I want some of the metallic or maybe we need to do a white first and then come back in with some metallic. But it's not the right side. Now, I'm going to do the metallic because I want the metallic to come up like underneath where this one is. So, I'm going to do a couple more metallic first. Okay. So Maybe even right here on the crosses. Uh probably above the crossbar. I'm going to do this one probably about a half inch above the crossbar We're getting close to where I'll be able to give you guys a count. Probably once we get this done, I will I'll probably do the decorating tomorrow. I'm thinking. Cuz I want to get both of them done and decorate both of them. There you go. All right from there. So I'm going to actually I'm probably about an inch above the last one. Because I'm designing this as I go. I'm trying to give you guys like very specific instructions on what I'm doing. Okay. I like that. We need to do the same on this side. So, we did the middle bar about a half inch up Oh, I'm sorry, a half inch above the crossbar. I like the shape that I'm getting. So, maybe my husband was right with which way to do the tails but like I said, I think I am going to do a comparison because I just, that's the kind of stuff I like to do. Alright, I'm going to come up on this one. Just like I did this one. So, I'm going to be above the crossbar Looks like I'm just barely above the crossbar. And I need to pull that one down just a little. And I want to end up cutting the mesh. Okay. So, the wobbly piece of mesh that I was worried about over here on the outside edge, all of the layering definitely took care of that. That's it's not a concern. Once you get everything layered on top of it but I wanted to double check that because I'm a stickler for making sure things are secure. A Let's see here. So, did I put the wrong ones? That's right. So, this one goes on this side. Alright. So, let's see. Okay, I'm going to put this one. I'm almost finished with what I'm going to do on each side. So, I'm going to attach this one not right at the V but just over on this side of the V. Cuz I'm going to attach the one for this other side right up against it there. Yeah, I like the way that looks and then I'm going to come up here to the top and do the same thing. This is getting kind of tight in here but we can do this. And then we're going to with the decorating that we're going to do tomorrow, we will cover up all of this that you see in the middle here. So, if you've done wings before, you know how to do that part but if you haven't, if it's this is something new for you, we're going to do that tomorrow. Okay, so now we need two white over here. I'm going to have to make one and now remember this folding thing. So, if I have my cut edge on this side So, say, right, we'll just redo it Pull it down scrunch it. And then when I flip it over, it will be right. Okay. Just going to stick a band on. Okay and then here's my cut side. So, I want to fold that over manipulate these petals. Okay, so this one will go right down here. Is that right? No. It's wrong. So, I have to redo it So, I want to put my cut edge up on the opposite side line up my edge, scrunch down the middle. This is the worst thing to do with poly burlap for the record. Just mess with it over and over. Okay, so now, let's try this again. Now, it is going the same direction as the others. I'm going to slide my band down just a little bit. And now we're ready to attach Okay, we need to put one more right here I might have to redo one to have it facing the right way. Yep. See if I just turn it around. If I just turn it around, it's facing the same way but then, my cut edge is up and in addition, it's flipping out instead of under. So, that's the reason for all that hoopla that I explained at the beginning of the video about folding it. Different two different ways. Okay, so I need to redo this one and switch. So, my cut edges on the left, my left line up the edge, scrunch in the middle pinch it. Okay? And then I want to fold my cut edge down And hope that I got this right. Success. And we're just going to put it directly opposite of this one. And I'm going to actually when I decorate this one, I do already have ideas. I have materials already pulled out to decorate with. I just wasn't sure how long it would take me to do this designing as I go. Um but I'm going to make this one specific to a mom. So, for mom. We could potentially stop there and just fill all this in. I just feel like I want to finish off with a little bit of glitz. So, and we do still have this little tip here that we can add to you. So, why not? And I'm just going to put it one on each side right in the middle When I get done, I'll go back and look at all of y'all's comments too. Um, to make sure that I answer everybody. Somebody gave me a tip to do that because sometimes it takes me couple days to get back to answer everybody in the text. So, I'm going to do that here in just a minute. So, if you guys have any questions for me, go ahead and drop em. I'll answer to the best of my ability. If I don't know, I'll tell you and I'll try to find out. Last petal. Bench down Also, let me know what you guys think of this design. If you think you're going to try it. That looks complicated but it's really, it's really not. It's not that bad. And the most important thing is just have fun with it. Make it your own. Don't have to follow my exact steps. You can do like I did and just play with it until it looks the way that you want it to look. So, here is what I have. And I'm probably going to fiddle with this down here at the bottom because I notice it's not weighing exactly the way that I want it to. This side seems like it is and this side needs me to adjust. So, I'm going to do that afterwards. Thank you, Kelly. Thank you, Shannon. Lot of work, Deanna. Yeah, it is more work than a typical wreath but I think that the result is worth the the extra work. It's very pretty, very unique. And then like I said, I'm going to make this one specific for a mom. I'll give you like a little preview. Um I have this ribbon. That I'm going to use. That's pink and white and says, mom, mama, Madre, mom, mommy, all the different mother, all the different words for mom. So, we're going to use that and make this actually specific for a mommy. Okay, give me just a second and I'm going to scroll through the comments and then tomorrow, we'll, we're going to actually decorate two but we're going to decorate them in different ways because I'm going to do this one for mom and then, I'm going to make another one and I will be decorating it differently. We got some pink florals and stuff here too that we're going to use tomorrow to go with the mommy. Give you kind of a peek at those as well. I've got all these little peonies and different ones. I've had these little mini rose buds I think are so cute. And then all kinds of little pink filler flowers. And possibly some greenery. To go behind all this. So, I think it will be very pretty. Thank you so much, Gary or Annie or both. Felt like it might have been easier to mount a piece of florist foam in the middle to insert the flowers. That's something that we could certainly do. Um I'm going to add a huge bow though. So, I don't know. Um but I do see what you're saying Would take a whole lot less ribbon and florals to fill in if we mounted a piece of floral foam here and then worked off of that to add our bow and stuff. So, that's certainly an idea. A very good idea. Hey, let me scroll here real quick and just see if I missed any questions or anything. If it'll let me Here's this with the iridescent white Dia. Oh, send me a picture. Yeah, I really liked the iridescent white. I don't regret using that. Um that mesh was harder to work with but I do like the the look of it. This week. I've been angel wing hanging on the wall in my bedroom that is incomplete. Adding the flower stage and I don't like how they slide out of the zip ties. Hm. Wonder why they're sliding out of the zip ties. I don't feel like that's going to be an issue. Um did you do them the same way that I did mine tonight? Like because it's got like these little knots on the back which is not appealing on the back. We might need to cover this. Um but then my zip tie is cinched around this. And with the amount of petals that I have in there. I'm not having any well that one slid a little bit. But that's the zip tie sliding. I I don't anyway my nudge could slide out That's why we only tested it with one zip tie. Oh, so Shannon, you didn't like the zip-tie tool? Okay, did I miss anybody's questions? If I did, ask again. So, I'll see it pop up. Thank you, honey. Thank you so much, Kelly. Yours has been hanging for over a year. You can't tell from the front that it is incomplete. Oh, that's awesome. So, you must have have you filled this like all the way up with the wings coming up. I think I would struggle with this all filled in without using something there. I don't think I could do that with petals. Okay. Well, guys, if nobody else has any questions or anything, I will go ahead and you don't know yet. You just tested it. You didn't use it on a project. Uh I've seen other crafters use them and the way that I struggle with these zip ties, I think it might be something that would be worth me trying. Okay, Diana. That's awesome. I look forward to it. Thank you. And thank you so much everybody who joined me And also for everybody who watches the replay, I appreciate you guys. And I will be on. You're welcome. I will be on again tomorrow. It's Saturday. So, I think I'm on at four tomorrow, Eastern Standard Time. Alright, have a good night everybody.
