Thomas Hart Benton

He was a 20th Century American painter born in Neosho, Missouri in April 15, 1889 and died at his home in Kansas City, Missouri January 19, 1975. he was known for his use of color in paintings that captured realistic depictions of people at work, play of other settings. Some of his famous works include "American Today," "Persephone," and "Planting." The Missouri State Capitol is a well known mural as well as the Truman Library. The Country Music Foundation was his last mural, Nashville, TN.
