Abstract

This paper discusses our experiences with the development of a distributed telecommunication application. The application performs a multimedia communication service which has been designed based on the Telecommunications Information Networking Architecture Consortium (TINA-C) Service and Management Architectures. The implementation has been installed and tested across a set of different CORBA2 platform products. The report focuses on the impact of using such platforms for the design of distributed applications. In addition some observations on testing and operating of distributed telecommunication applications in the project specific test bed are reflected.
