Most of the contributions from women have been seen in science and technology. This is mainly possible due to the growth of scientific temper and rational international intervention towards identifying woman as great power engines of society and as human resource. Despite women’s engagement in science and technology, there is still identity dilemma amongst women across the globe. Most importantly discourses on gender identification have been made by the philosophical theories of Hegel, Charles Taylor and Nancy Fraser. There is still need to re-iterate the ideas on “Politics of Recognition” ton delimit the identity dilemma amongst women.
Result of this analysis of inter-relationship between women, science and identity dilemma would help in bringing changes in society and of course help in moving towards sustainable development. There are five sections in this paper namely - i) section one - Success and role of women in science ii) section two- social configuration and gender participation in scientific development in global perspective iii) identity dilemma and politics of recognition iv) section four- Towards sustainable development v) section five- conclusion. Paper ends with conclusion hoping for a response towards positive approach seeking women as an element of development who does face identity crises at social level. Sustainable development must meet this requirement.
