I believe sound is for actual audio in the post.

I believe you are looking for an alias, rather than an implication.

plap is also widely used as onomatopoeia so it is not restricted to actual sound

Then if ever they need to be tagged, they should probably be tagged as Warren_Huart_Recording (copyright)

I’ve made a wiki for plap_(sound) saying that it should be used for webm and flash that actually contain the sound that the impact_onomatopoeia plap stands in for.
