Arga-class tugboat

Arga Class of tugboats are series of service watercraft built by Tebma Shipyard LTD (a subsidiary of Bharati Shipyard Ltd) in Malpe, for Indian navy.

Each vessel in the series is 22.8 metres long and 7.42 metres wide with a draft forward (bow) of 2.35 metres. Each tug has a capacity of 10 tonnes bollard pull at 85 per cent maximum continuous rating (MCR) and 12 knots speed at 85 per cent MCR and is fitted with two 850 HP Kirloskar caterpillar engines coupled to two Steerable Rudder Propellers of 1350 mm diameter. The vessels have two Auxillary electrical generationg plant of 60 kw each and are fitted with a sewage treatment plant. Ins Arga and Ins Bali are named after coastal villages of Karwar District.
