Basouna is a small countryside village in Saharsa District of Bihar, India. Not much is known about this village but the legends say that this village was established by some rich person. This village, however only 7 kilometres away from Distt. Head Qtrs. is underdeveloped with most of the inhabitants being based on farming. This village earlier comprised of Dholi, a small village now with Diwari Panchayat. The most influential person ever of this locality was Late Pt. Dhaneshwar Jha. He was a great follower of Lord Krishna. The Villagers profoundly obeyed him. He was a man of dynamic character. With the invent of Panchayti Raj, things have started changing of late. Now more and more people are getting rights concious.
