Basauna

Basauna is a middle sized village of Siradeh panchayat (ear.ier basauna was itself a panchayat) in Kahra block of Saharsa district of Koshi Commissionary of Mithila region of Bihar. It is at a distance of 6 km from district headquarter.

The neighbouring villages of basauna is dholi, chainpur, bharauli, amarpur, parminia, siradeh, dighia, parari, bangaon etc. There are mainly two tolas in this village i.e. puwari and pachhwari tola.

Pt. Dhaneshwar Jha, Shri Kailas Jha, Shri Lal baba etc. are some of the reknowned personalities of this village.

In the field of education, there are two schools i.e. one middle school (which is a model school of this region) and a girls' school in this village.

Main temples are Mahadev mandir, thakur wari, hanuman mandir, dharmraj, devi sthan (in Diwari).

Agriculture is the main occupation of this village. Main crops are paddy, wheat, kulthi, moong etc.

This village has been supplying a large number of its son to serve our country as army. This village is proud of its army man.
