Edward Francis Anhalt
Edward Anhalt was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1946 to Jack and Sadye Anhalt (nee Moskol). He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended Washington High School, and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin.[1]
He did an abreviated stint as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Shiraz, Iran. Upon his return, he earned a Masters of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Doctoral Degree from Rutgers University [2]. He completed a postdoctorate at Lehigh University.
He taught at Rutgers University, Douglass College, Muhlenberg College, Cardinal Stritch University, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. At present he is the Dean of Education at International University for Graduate Studies[3] in St. Kitts, West Indies.
He authored the book "Raise Your GPA 1 Full Grade" [4], and is the President of Banking On Kids ,ref>[bankingonkids.org]</ref>, a company that helps K-8 students become fiscally prudent by opening student-run-banks in their schools. The company was created in 1995, and has witnessed over 350 banks opened in schools in Wisconsin, Kansas, and California. [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12].
Since 1981 he has presided over a special events/marketing firm [Just Like Downtown Inc]. [13], where he created and produced over 150 special events in the area of food, sports, and education. He created the [Great Rubber Duck Race] down the Milwaukee River, with the no. 1 duck winning a sportscar [14], contests to see which restaurants had the best pizza [Davinci's Masterpizza] [15], [16] ,fishfry [Juneau the Best Fishfry?], chili [Chili in Milwaukee, You Bet!], frozen custard [Custard's Best Stand][17], and chocolate [A Lotta Chocolata]. He packaged vials of commemorative sod from Milwaukee County Stadium after the '82 World Series,selling over 10,000 souvenir vials [18]. He staged a scavenger hunt [Now Museum-Now You Don't] through the Milwaukee Public Museum, with the winner uncovering clues to cars and computers. He oversaw the [Wisconsin Farm Fund] enabling local farmers to raise monies during fallow harvests, worked with U.S Open winner Andy North to create the [Pro Golf Shoot Out], where local amateur golfers could try each week to best a visiting PGA golfer, who posted a score on local county golf courses. He created a giant flea market [Park-it Market] with over 10,000 visitors and 600 vendors [19], [20], and auctioned off 52 bachelors to 1,000 attentive ladies at the [Bachelor Auction] raising over $50,000 for Big Brothers-Big Sisters [21] .
He previously served as the Marketing Director for the Milwaukee Department of Parks, Recreation, and Culture [22], Marketing Director for the King Solomon Mines in Eilat, Israel [23], Business Liaison for the Greater Milwaukee Education Trust [defunct], and Special Event Advertising Specialist for the advertising firm Hastings & Doyle [defunct].
He is married to Dr. Beverly Belfer, and is the father of Alexandra Anhalt
