The Kerala State Planning Board is an advisory board under the Government of the State of Kerala, India. The board assists the state government in formulating a development plan based on a scientific assessment of the resources (material, capital and human) available to the state. A comprehensive economic review of the state is prepared by the board every year.

The official duties of the Board are performed by seven important divisions. They are:

Plan Coordination Division
The Plan Coordination Division has been entrusted to the following duties:
- To prepare the Economic Review.
- To prepare reports as to the resource allocation of the state.
Agriculture Division
The Agriculture Division performs the following duties:
- To make a review of agriculture and allied activities, irrigation, environment etc.
- To formulate plans of sub-sectors like crop husbandry, soil-water conservation, animal husbandry, dairy development, fisheries, forestry and wildlife, co-operation, development of Western Gatt, Irrigation, flood control and anti-sea erosion, command area development etc.
- To prepare budget estimates in accordance with Annual Plans.
Evaluation Division
- To study the modus operandi of existing government projects and programmes in Five-Year Plans and and Annual Plans.
- To find out the hurdles in implementing such programmes and to ensure the beneficiaries the desired results.
- To increase the efficiency of government projects and to provide guidelines over such matters.
- To conduct state and national level training programmes so as to increase the efficiency of technical staffs in District Planning Offices and State Planning Board.
- To co-ordinate the research activities for publishing Economic Review.
Social Service Division
It deals with education, art and culture, medical and public health, sewage and water supply, housing, information and publicity, labour and labour welfare, social welfare and nutrition.
Industry and Infrastructure Division
Industry and Infrastructure Division deals with the subjects like industry, energy, transportation, tourism, science and technology etc. It keeps a watch over the activities of various portfolios and provides timely advice to it whenever necessary.
