Piff the Magic Dragon

Piff the Magic Dragon (real name John van der Put)[1] is a magician and comedian from the United Kingdom.

Biography

Van der Put grew up in South East London.[2] Van der Put began his career after University in IT before moving into magic.[3] After many years of corporate gigs, he developed Piff the Magic Dragon. [4] Van der Put is a member of The Magic Circle, and is known as one of the youngest members to lecture at the circle.[5] Van der Put has sold one of his tricks to magician David Blaine. [6] The character Piff the Magic Dragon consists of an act with self-deprecating humour and deadpan delivery. He also has an assistant known as "Mr. Piffles" which is a chihuahua in a dragon costume.[7]

Notable appearances

Piff appeared at the New York City Secret Policeman's Ball.[1]

Piff has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and holds the record for highest box office take in a single night at the festival.[8]

Piff appeared on the show Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2011.
