The Rt Rev Saunders Davies was the Anglican Bishop of Bangor from 2000 until 2004.[1] Born on 30 December 1937, he was educated at the University College of North Wales and Selwyn College, Cambridge [2] before embarking on a clerical career. Ordained in 1964,[3] he began his ministry with a curacy at Holyhead before being appointed a Minor Canon of Bangor Cathedral. From 1969 until 1975 he was Rector at Llanllyfni then Vicar of Gorseinon. Additionally Rural Dean of the area from 1983, he moved to become Archdeacon of Meirionnydd in 1993- from where he ascended to the episcopate.
