The Umbeliceae occur mainly in temperate areas of Asia, flowering in spring to early summer, with about 4−5 genera and 100 species. The tribe consists of two subclades. The first, Phedimus/Rhodiola, includes ''Phedimus'', ''Rhodiola'' and ''Pseudosedum''. The latter has been included within ''Rhodiola'', or treated as sister to that genus. ''Aizopsis'' is included by some authors in ''Phedimus''.
