::Although theirthere is a State Police "Troop NYC" they do not handle any patrol duties. It's mostly staffed by troopers from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the governor's security detail (the governor has an office in Manhattan and most governor's actually spend most of their time in New York City), along with a few troopers assigned to the recruiting unit.
