:Right of asylum → Asylum – This is the primary meaning of asylum, now a disambig. I propose that the disambig is moved to Asylum (disambiguation) and this article is noved to asylum. The "Right of" is not necessary. Note that subarticles are in the format "asylum in", not "right of asylum" in: Asylum in the United States, Asylum in the European Union, etc. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus|<fontspan style="color:#7CFC00;background:#006400;"> reply here</fontspan> 15:13, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

*Oppose – 'Asylum' is simply too ambiguous. There is no reason to move from the present title, which is WP:PRECISE. No evidence has been provided to support the notion that this sense of the word 'asylum' is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Even if mental asylums are a thing of the past in most of the developed world, one cannot deny that they are a topic of historical significance. *Oppose. == redirection from "place of refuge" ==

This is misleading as the "place of refuge" is also a terminus in the international maritime traffic. IMO: "Places of refuge" - addressing the problem of providing places of refuge to vessels in distress--5glogger (talk) 05:07, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

I plan to use these sources to add more depth to the section focused on the United States. I will add to the section to talk about the conditions people must meet to apply for asylum, what happens after people do or do not get asylum, give a brief overview of the system, talk about how many people apply each year and how many people are rejected and a brief look at U.S. policies and laws for asylum.
