History
Started on May 25, 2004, the site was originally created to provide British ex-pats and fans of British Television living outside of the UK with one of the UK's most popular soap operas, EastEnders, although this quickly expanded to cover a broader range of programming.
The site has a particularly close, tightly-knit user community. This is evidenced by their active forum pages, IRC chat rooms and their community radio station with all shows hosted by UKNova members. The radio station generally broadcasts 24/7 and is staffed by volunteers from within this unique online community.
It seems to be the standard "well known" BitTorrent site mentioned in the UK newspapers e.g. The Guardian[1] , and The Times [2]
Trivia
UKNova was mentioned in an article on BitTorrent and the leaking of episodes not yet broadcast (in this case the first episode of the new Doctor Who) in which a spokesperson stated they had taken it off UKNova because "it is not in the overall interests of this site to distribute a copy of such a long-awaited and high-profile show before it is aired".[3]
