Sidney Cordle is a British political campaigner, who became leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance in 2012. Previously Mr Cordle was a conservative councillor from 1984 to 1988 in Sheffield.

Early/Private life

Educated at Theale Grammar School in Berkshire (1967-1974). Graduated from Sheffield University BA Honours in1977 and continued his studies to achieve his LLB with honours in 1982

He was married in 1980 to Beverley and they have three children, Alex (b.1985) Emily (b.1986) & Joanna (b.1989). They agreed to a divorce in April 2000.

Sid was employed by Prudential Assurance Co Ltd from 1978 to 1996. After a brief spell as a Self Employed Independent Financial Adviser (1996-1997), he accepted a new job as Managing Director & IFA with Scott Briscoe Ltd (1997-2011).

Politically active

Sid Cordle served as a conservative Councillor in Sheffield from 1984 [2] to 1988. He stood in the General elections in 1983 in Sheffield Heeley and 1992 in Sheffield Hillsborough for the Conservative Party. In the 2005 General Election Sid stood against Nick Clegg in Sheffield Hallam for the Christian Peoples Alliance. In 2010 he stood in Erith and Thamesmead Constituency for the Christian Peoples Alliance. (1)

After finishing an a Councillor in Sheffield he was given the MBE for public and political service. This happened in the New Years Honours list 1989.

European Elections 2014 he is the No.1 on the list in London (3) for the Christian Peoples Alliance. He was interviewed by Andrew Neil on the Daily Politics Show(4). He was also interviewed by Simon Barrett on Revelation TV.

Honors and Awards

Sid Cordle was named in the 1989 New Years honors list. He received an MBE for Public and political services.
