Thomas William Mariano (born February 24, 1969) is best known for his work on Naughty Or Nice[3] and Mariano has his own reality show called “Behind the Mask Show: The Story of the US Mercs Paintball Team”.[4][5] Mariano’s acting career really started to take off in 2011 when he was cast in the movie “The Joneses” as Detective Ballantine[6]

Personal life

Thomas William Mariano was born into an Italian-Catholic family on February 24, 1969. He grew up with his sister Susan and parents Lino & Lois Mariano in Canton, Massachusetts. Tom first started acting at the young age of 8. His first role was in 3rd grade when he was cast as the lead guard in the Wizard of Oz at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School.

Years later, Tom's parents divorced and at the age of 14, found himself on his way to Davis, California with his mother and sister. In California Tom found a positive outlet performing in school plays at Davis High School and at his local church. At the age of 15 he created his own cable show called "Tom's Bike Repair" which ran for 3 years. Tom played a key role in the show's success. He not only wrote the script, he directed, acted and solicated sponsors to help fund the cost of the show. But soon after Tom found himself wanting to move back to Massachusetts to be with his Father. Tom made the trip back in 1986 where he attended Canton High School and graduated in 1988.

It wasn't until 1990 that Tom decided to take a different turn and pursue a career in law enforcement with the Randolph Police Department as a Special Officer. Shortly thereafter in 1992, he was hired by the Boston Police Department as a Boston Special Officer and worked in the famous Downtown Crossing area in Boston.

In addition to Tom's accomplishments, in 1999 he took on another challenge and gave competitive bodybuilding a try. Not only did Tom win a competition within his first year, he took second place in the 2000 Men's Open Lightweight class and went on to win many more competitions in the years to follow.

In 2000 Tom decided to use his knowledge and experience as an officer and started a company called TNT Fugitive Recovery Security Agency where he worked hand in hand with Immigration and Naturalization Services on the deportation of illegal immigrants. The firm was in business for 8 years and serviced the New England area.

While still doing the Fugitive Recovery business, in 2003 Tom accepted a new position with the Massasoit Police Department as a State Police Special. In 2008 Tom sold the TNT Fugitive Recovery Security Agency and in 2009, after six years with Massasoit Police Department, Tom left law enforcement all together.

Although Tom was busy pursuing other career interests, he still had a passion for acting. It wasn't until 2005 when Tom got his big break cast in the role as Eddie in the movie "Naughty or Nice". Not only did he act, he received credits as a Producer, Stunt Coordinator and Editor. Tom also made his debut as a Stormtrooper in 2006 on the Fox 25 Boston morning show. Not long after that in 2008, Tom decided to make another big move and came out with his own reality TV series called "Behind the Mask Show: The Story of The US Mercs Paintball Team". It was a reality show based on what it takes to run a successful paintball team. Along with being the Creator, Tom was Producer, Series Director and Series Writer.

In 2011 Tom was cast as Detective Ballantine in the movie "The Joneses", a dark comedy about rival neighbors whose quest for the best turns deadly. A year later in 2012, Tom was cast as a wedding guest in the hit movie "Ted", a story centered on a man and his teddy bear who comes to life as the result of a childhood wish starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis and directed by Seth MacFarlane. In that same year Tom was cast as a fight patron in the movie "Here Comes the Boom" which is about a high school biology teacher who moonlights as a mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to save the school's music program. The movie includes Kevin James and Salma Hayek and is scheduled to come out in October 2012.

Tom was then cast as a Boston Red Sox fan in the movie "R.I.P.D." also in 2012. The movie is about a recently slain cop who joins a team of undead police officers working for the rest in peace department and tries to find the man who murdered him. It includes actors Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges and is slated to come out in July 2013.

ABC came knocking as well in 2012 when Mariano was cast as a gala guest in ABC's pilot "Gilded Lilys". The story is set in 1895 and revolves around the opening of the first luxury hotel in New York City and all the intermingling of love. The show included Blythe Danner and John Barrowman and was slated for the fall 2012. Soon after filming "Gilded Lilys" Tom went on to play one of the FBI Investigators in the new Tom Hanks movie called "Captain Phillips" also slated to come out in October 2013.

2012 proved to be a busy year for Tom when he had the opportunity to be cast as a police officer and work with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy in "The Heat". The movie, which is about an FBI agent that teams up with a Boston police officer to take down a Russian mobster, is slated to hit theaters in April 2013.

In Tom's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family & friends, especially his 8-year old daughter, Gianna. He loves watching movies, exercising and riding his motorcycle. Tom is also very passionate about raising awareness about dyslexia. As a child, Tom struggled with this learning disability and understands how difficult it can be. He hopes to be an inspiration to both children and their families struggling with dyslexia and let them know that you can overcome this and achieve your goals and dreams.

Acting career

Mariano started acting at the young age of 8. His first role was in the 3rd grade when he was cast for the lead guard for the wizard of Oz at the J.F.K Kennedy School in Canton, Massachusetts. When Mariano moved to Davis, California he was 14 his friend at that time asked if Mariano wanted to help out at the local cable show in Davis. Not even 3 months in and Mariano already had his own show called “Tom’s Bike Repair”. The show was about how to fix your 10 speed bike or any bike you might have. The show ran for 3 years and Mariano went out and got local sponsors to help with the cost of the show. Mariano acted, wrote it, and directed the show himself. From there Mariano did plays at Davis High School and did plays at his local church in Davis, California.

1986-2005

In 1986 When Mariano Moved back to Canton, Massachusetts he really didn’t do much acting tell he got his big break in 2005. In 2005 Mariano was cast for the role as “Eddie” in the movie Naughty or Nice Maybe Santa grades on a curve. Not only did he act in it he also received credits for producer, stunt coordinator, and editor for the movie ‘’Naughty or Nice’’.

2006-2010

In 2006 Mariano was cast for the movie Et + si @ff The parallel fates of a few inhabitants of a strange planet : the world of Internet encounters Mariano played a “Les Complices”. 2008 Mariano made the big move and come out with his owe reality TV Series called “Behind the Mask Show: The Story of the US Mercs Paintball Team”. Witch was a reality show based on Paintball Team and there in and outs on what it takes to run a paintball team. Mariano also is the producer, Series Director, Series Writer, and Creator, the show is still running and Mariano was still producing the show through 2010.

2011–Present

Right after filming Gilded Lillys[8] Mariano went right to the film set of the new Tom Hanks filmed called “Captain Phillips” were mariano was cast as one of the FBI Investigator. “Captain Phillips” is slated to come out in 2013.

Law Enforcement Career

In 1991 Mariano started working for the Randolph Auxiliary Police Department as an Auxiliary Officer. He also worked as a security guard in the Boston area. In 1996 Mariano quit being a security gueard and moved on to a career in collections. It wouldn’t be long before Mariano was right back doing what he loves the most.

In 2000 Mariano start the company TNT Fugitive Recovery Security Agency,[9] the company was subcontracted by Immigration and Naturalization Service on the deportation of immigrants. The company was in business for 4 years and help in 2 diffident states like, [Massachusetts]] on the deportation of immigrants. In 2003 Well still doing the Fugitive Recovery Mariano got a Job with the Massasoit Police Department as a Campus Police Officer. In 2008 Mariano was forced to sell his company TNT Fugitive Recovery Agency for legal reasons and in 2009 Mariano was fired from the Massasoit Police Department.

Bodybuilding career

In 1999 well working out at Gold's Gym in Stoughton, Massachusetts one of his friends made a bet with Mariano. The bet was in one year time that Mariano couldn’t become a body builder nor win in bodybuilding competition. Not only did Mariano take second place in the 2000 Men's Open Lightweight class, Mariano went on to win many more bodybuilding competitions throughout the years to come. Mariano continues to work out today and body build in his spare time. You still can catch Mariano working out at Gold's Gym in Stoughton, Massachusetts and now the gym has formerly changed their name to “24/7 Family Fitness”.
