Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Decrease
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Protection is evidently no longer needed. as there hasn't been any edit warring in months, and the IP address that claimed to return has gone dark. I don't see any evidence that the IP address in question is planning on returning. I also see the page is barely even being edited, so I think it should be re opened to the public, so anybody can edit it. Thank you for your consideration. 50.206.232.94 (talk) 06:48, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- I am not an admin, but just wanted to add a comment. Wouldn't an IP not be able to make edits when the page is protected? so how do you know the IP did not try and found it to be protected? RolandSimon (talk) 08:49, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- I wasn't saying as far as the particular page, I meant on Wikipedia as a whole. I haven't seen them making any edits on Wikipedia in general. 24.126.8.228 (talk) 06:03, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Cullen328: last protecting admin: any thoughts on that?. My 2c: I would leave the page protected, at most pending-changes protection might be considered. Lectonar (talk) 09:08, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

Reason: Hello, I was going to make a page for this Indian singer, but found an existing draft for it. The draft wasn't too proper for Wikipedia, It had a lot of unsourced content, Youtube links and also majority of it was a copy of Wikitia page. I do not know who copied who, but I decided to rewrite it to avoid any copyright issues. It took me about 3 hours to work on this, but I am unable to make it live as the page is protected. I realize that it may have had some spam issues in the past for whatever reason, but if you check the current draft that I wrote, you will realize that he is a major Indian singer with many awards and more than enough citations to meet notability. Could you please unprotect this page and move it live? RolandSimon (talk) 08:40, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Declined The draft hasn't been submitted for review yet; please follow the process laid out at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Lectonar (talk) 09:11, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
No protection: MusikBot II added template protection to this page, which prevents AAlertBot from updating this page. Pizzaplayer219TalkContribs 12:20, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- I also suggest adding this page to User:MusikBot II/TemplateProtector/config too. Pizzaplayer219TalkContribs 13:14, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
