editI noticed there's an "Alexandros Kallimachis" in the list of governors of Samos Island#Ottoman Rule. Was he part of the same family? bogdan 12:18, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Djuvara, p.342, says that an Alexandru Callimachi (disclaimer for the Greek users: generic Romanianization of the name, not territorial pissing), an ambassador of the Porte and by of Samos in the 18450s, was a descendant of the Callimachis. (not to be confused with his relatives - the Moldavian prince and the -likely unimportant- Alexandru Callimachi who lived in Moldavia around 1830). Dahn 12:49, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
