If tritheism is a hypothetical belief system, who has hypothesized it? It looks like nothing more than a gross misunderstanding or parody of the Christian Trinity, and probably a gross distortion of Hinduism as well. Perhaps a straw man doctrine used to refute the real ones? Wesley 14:22 May 5, 2003 (UTC)

Shame on me for posting without doing any research first. The term "tritheism" is used in discussing the history of Christianity to identify the belief that the three persons of the Trinity are actually three separate gods. It is often contrasted with trinitarianism, as is modalism, although I did find one or two current writers suggesting that trinitarianism was just tritheism in disguise. The following commentary was added to the article body, but belongs here instead. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 21:39, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Not sure who wrote this article, but this claim is untrue. "One God in Three Persons" is the orthodox position. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.167.198.53 (talkcontribs) 03:18, 10 April 2013‎
