The result was keep. People eat curious things but this one has some recognition... Tone 19:52, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete non-encyclopedic WP:OR article presenting the author's opinions on puttig crisps on sandwiches. Mayalld (talk) 17:20, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Was going to say delete before seeing Sandwich#List of regional sandwich styles and in particular Chip butty. If this gets deleted, then there are a lot of other types of sandwiches that need to get deleted as well. -Atmoz (talk) 17:29, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep for now. The article is newly created and lacks sourcing. However, in searching around, it appears to be a regional snack sandwich, and many emntions can be found such as this one. Give the article some time for improvement by way of sourcing. -- Whpq (talk) 17:39, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - per the creator's comments on it's talk page. Can be re-evaluated at a later date. Pyrrhus16 18:06, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep — I have added a dozen sources and cleaned up the article. This is a notable type of sandwich. If you want more sources, look here: gbooks "potato chip sandwich", gnews "potato chip sandwich", gnews "crisp sandwich", gbooks "crisp sandwich" (Seaching for "crisp sandwich" is problematic, by the way, because it also returns the adjective crisp as well as the noun.) - Keep - though I wouldn't eat such sandwich, the article seems encyclopedic. Wandering Courier (talk) 21:07, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Definitely encyclopedic, not a hoax, well sourced, notable.Hello, My Name Is SithMAN8 (talk) 22:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete however well sourced there really has to be a level of "For god's sake this is an encyclopaedia!" It's indiscriminate garbage. We'll be having the lettuce sandwich next and saying "Gosh that's notable and verifiable" too. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 22:53, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Not meaning to be cantankerous here, but if the lettuce sandwich is notable (per WP:N), and that notability is verifiable via reliable sources, then it should indeed have an article. Or is there some policy I am unaware of that supports your argument? LinguistAtLarge • Msg 06:03, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oh I think your sudden creation of the lettuce article shows that the "but" in your sentence is valid. Articles such as these make WP a laughing stock. Please go ahead. Also read WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. I had the feeling you would create the new article. Looks almost WP:POINT to me. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 10:05, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Please assume good faith on my part, as I am on your part. My explanation for creating lettuce sandwich is simply this: I created it after you made me aware of it and I realized is was notable (in my opinion). If you disagree on the notability point, feel free to bring it to AfD. I have no problem with the community as a whole deciding if it's notable or not. No hard feelings, if we disagree a bit, that's fine with me too. :) LinguistAtLarge • Msg 15:22, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Weak keep Not every sandwich filling should get an article, but this, like Chip butty, has enough of an element of being a cultural icon that I'd say err on the side of keeping it. --Icarus (Hi!) 23:47, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- weak keep. Salt & vinegar crisps and hot, spicy salami between halves of a bun, along with a glass of cider on a hot hot day, are a treat. Grutness...wha? 01:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep improved article. As Icarus says, a cultural icon. the wub "?!" 15:46, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. I followed an odd looking link in American Gangster (film) and found that the weird sandwich I had briefly wondered about is actually well known. No big deal, but I find this kind of cultural background information useful. Rl (talk) 11:38, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
