editHinde (1904) records ngwarra as an equivalent of English partridge in “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu, listing also “Ulu dialect” (spoken then from Machakos to coastal area) of Kamba engwalle and Swahili kware etc. as its equivalents.[1]
Pronunciation
edit- As for Tonal Class, Benson (1964) classifies this term into Class 2 with a disyllabic stem, together with kĩgunyũ, njagĩ, kiugũ, and so on.
