"Ships" is a rock ballad written, and originally performed by British musician Ian Hunter. The song was first released on Hunter's fourth solo album; You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic in 1979. It was later recorded by singer Barry Manilow for his sixth studio album One Voice. His version peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
