CH7 (Thai: ช่องเจ็ด; RTGSChong Chet; literal: Channel 7) is a Thai television station. CH7 was officially launched on 27 November 1967 after being acquired by Royal Thai Army.

CH7's headquarters are at Mo Chit, Chatuchak.

CH7 currently broadcasts on UHF using digital television network for CH7HD. CH7 is also available over TrueVisions on Channel 35. It broadcasts 24-hours daily.

Since its 1974-75 conversion to colour it has retained its signature identification tune.

The channel targets Thai-speaking viewers; American English and Hong Kong Cantonese imported series are also shown in this channel.

Digital switchover

With the start of digital terrestrial television broadcasting in Thailand, Channel 7 inaugurated its digital HD signal on 25 April 2014 on one of the multiplexes of the Royal Thai Army through Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Channel 5 at channel 35.

On 19 June 2017, Channel 7 announced that the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission had approved their plan for discontinuing their analog transmissions, starting on 1 August in Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Kampaeng Phet, Phichit, Chumphon, Phangnga, Phattalung, and Songkhla provinces. According to the plan, all analog transmissions of the station will be discontinued on 16 June 2018. [1] [2]

On the night of 31 December 2017 into 1 January 2018, Channel 7 performed the second phase of its switchoff, covering the following provinces: Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Buri Ram, Surin, Trat, Nakhorn Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Kanchanaburi, Ranong, Nakhorn Sri Thammarat, Satun, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. This switch off was promoted on air starting from 27 November 2017, the 50th anniversary of the station's founding. [3]
