The Cyrillic letter lje (Љ, љ) was originally a ligature of Л and Ь and represents the same phoneme that the two separate letters do, /lʲ/. It is used in Serbian and Macedonian (in both languages it represents /lj/). It was invented by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić and corresponds to Latin Lj in Serbian.
