Michael Hitchcock (born July 28, 1958 in Defiance, Ohio) is an American actor, screenwriter and television producer.

As an actor he has appeared in several of Christopher Guest's critically-acclaimed movies, including Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), and For Your Consideration (2006). Other film appearances include Joss Whedon's Serenity (2005), Smiley Face (2007), Wild Hogs (2007), Pretty Persuasion (2005), Happy Texas (1999), and Heartbreakers (2001).

He had a recurring role on Darren Starr's television sit-com Grosse Pointe as actor Richard Towers, and has made guest appearances in several television series, including Entourage, Arrested Development, "Desperate Housewives, Las Vegas, MAD TV, and NYPD Blue.

In 1999 Hitchcock became a writer for the Fox latenight comedy series MAD TV, and became one of the series' producers in 2001. He also played the role of eccentric announcer Simian Dyson on the recurring MAD TV skit The Lillian Verner Game Show. During Hitchcock's tenure the MAD TV writing team was nominated for three Writers Guild of America Awards in the Comedy/Variety category (2005, 2004, 2003). Hitchcock's other writing credits include the comedy films House Arrest (1996) and The Ultimate Christmas Present (2000) as well as the 1992 drama Where the Day Takes You, which marked the film acting debut of Will Smith.

Hitchcock received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He resides in Los Angeles.
