The 'History' section of this page has been edited so many times it has lost all sense of flow; it stumbles from sentence to sentence, not all of which make sense.

For example, what does 'A small number of pubs such as "The Manor Inn" in Godalming where a Premier Inn could be built.' mean?

Someone who knows what they are talking about needs to edit the whole section.
