Some ideas to improve: |
|||
*Go take some pictures around campus. The school has some nice old buildings and big old trees. It's spring and things are in bloom. |
|||
*Sports are good to have, but this is an educational institution. Add some info on the programs and add the accredidation info to "Academics" along with any rankings. Be sure to cite sources. |
|||
*Nice, old campus. Make a "Campus" section that talks about what is there. You might even have some NRHP buildings that could have a few sentences on. Yes: Pioneer Hall, Linfield College is on the NRHP.see for info |
|||
*Research. Use your student library resources online to search through for info on buildings, programs, alumni, etc. |
|||
Have fun editing. Aboutmovies 04:28, 21 March 2007 (UTC) |

While this incident made news, covering it in such depth - and with a subheader 1 format - would be WP:UNDUE. It runs 240/790 words in the history section. Similar incidents at other similarly-sized, and similar type institutions seems to have the information limited to a few statements as paragraph copy in the history. :I disagree. There were multiple incidents, well-sourced, nor does it go into excessive detail. I've no objection to removing the subheading. Linfield article says Amy Tan is a graduate, but the Amy Tan article says nothing about this. cwh 19:31, 7 April 2007 (UTC) |

I have removed/edited part of the recent info added. See weasel words, NPOV|neutral point of view, and also WP:CITE on how to bring this article up to standards. Aboutmovies 19:19, 20 August 2007 (UTC) |

*October additions. It's great that this article is getting some attention, the improvements are great. If you could try to find some third party sources since generally we try to avoid overuse of sources related to the article in general, as this helps keep the article neutral. Again great job with the additions. Aboutmovies 20:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC) |

:*Oregon Historic Database is a good third party source that has info on several buildings on campus. Search by city with Mac and then scroll down. Aboutmovies (talk) 07:09, 3 November 2008 (UTC) |

==Misconception== |
|||
There is a big misconception about the founding of the college and there is no basis whatsoever for claims that it traces its roots to an Oregon City school in the 1840's. This claim has been removed from the Linfield College entry here. If someone attempts to put this myth back into the entry they should prove it by historical documents. This is a misunderstanding and claim and it's just something that keeps getting passed on. Please read "Bricks Without Straw: The Story of Linfield College," by Professor Jonas A. "Steine" Jonasson. I personally spoke with the then retired professor Jonasson before his death on this point and he agreed with me that this claim of Linfield tracing its roots to the Oregon City institute was untrue. Please document if you attempt to continue passing on this historic fiction, thank you. Raisecover39 (talk) 08:55, 5 April 2010 (UTC). |

:I've added, with sources, what apparently has caused the confusion. Seems the organization that later started the school was formed in OC, and not a school. Aboutmovies (talk) 20:34, 25 April 2010 (UTC) |

Hello fellow Wikipedians, |

I have just added archive links to on Linfield College. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add cbignore after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes: |
