: Starship.paint, It appears the document you cited was written by attorneys for Dominion Voting Systems as part of a lawsuit against various parties, including My Pillow. I would not use that as official canon for how to spell a defendant's name. Normally I'll look at a company's legal terms, privacy policy, etc. statements when I am wondering how to format or spell a company name. |
|||
:* Terms Uses both forms extensively with one curiosity being that "My Pillow" dominates in the top half and "MyPillow" in the bottom half of the terms statement. |

|||
:* California Consumer Privacy Act Mostly uses "My Pillow" except for "MyPillow" in their postal mailing address. |

: In summary, they are not consistent nor could I see a pattern for when and how they use each form of the name. |

: I'm inclined to stay with "My Pillow" as it's been the long standing name that has not been contested. I don't support hunting down and changing all instances of "MyPillow" to "My Pillow" throughout Wikipedia. Both forms of the name are correct if you ask the company. |
|||
: We probably should say that the company uses both forms but need a WP:RS source for that. Citing their Terms & Conditions page for example would be WP:SYNTH on our part. --Marc Kupper|talk 15:14, 15 August 2021 (UTC) |

::Marc Kupper - you are mistaken about the author of the document. It’s not Dominion or it’s lawyers. Check the last page. It’s U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols. This is essentially a court ruling. I did more research and found that a lawyer for MyPillow, Nathan Lewin, called them exactly that. So did another lawyer for MyPillow, Abraham Kaplan, here. ::: Starship.paint, you are right. It's a judge's ruling though rulings typically use what the lawyers on both side wrote. None of the parties in the lawsuits seemed to disagree with that the company name is My Pillow, which they referred to as MyPillow in the body of the document. I'm not sure what you are getting at though as the company regularly refers to themselves using both forms of the name. This is also reflected in the sources cited by this Wikipedia article. Some of them use "My Pillow" and some of them use "MyPillow". That's why I have said that both forms of the name are correct. --Marc Kupper|talk 01:43, 17 August 2021 (UTC) |

::::Marc Kupper - I agree with you that both forms of the name are correct. Unfortunately, we can only choose one for the article title. I'm not convinced that just because this has been the title, this should continue being the title ("My Pillow" for all of its life). In my search for "My Pillow" on Wikipedia, many alternative instances arise (e.g. If My Pillow Could Talk /// Tears on My Pillow (Johnny Nash song) /// Under My Pillow etc.) If you search for "My Pillow" online, similar confusion can occur. Obviously, there will be less confusion if you search for MyPillow. I am willing to take the effort to change that if you agree. ::::: Starship.paint, if you believe there is confusion among people seeking "My Pillow" then a better fix is to create a page similar to Tears on My Pillow (disambiguation) and to add Other uses at the top of this article. Besides the articles you mentioned there is also Helmet for My Pillow and (Lay Your Head on My) Pillow. I believe a far greater source of confusion is people arriving here at My Pillow and there was no mention of MyPillow other than it's sprinkled in the last section. Must we summarize everything in the introduction?
[edit]This Wikipedia page has many sections:
- History
- Operations
- Design/technology
- Awards and Recognition
- Charitable work
- Lawsuits, etc.
It seems to me that summarizing each of these sections in the Introduction is redundant and that we can just let the sections speak for themselves. People can easily see all of the sections on the page, after all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.16.78.80 (talk) 19:28, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- You are setting up a straw man argument. You have been told time after time that the lede is meant to summarize important contents (such as lawsuits and revoking of accreditation) and you still pretend that you do not understand what is going on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.83.224 (talk) 19:48, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
Wikipedia is supposed to be neutral. Who are we to determine what is important vs. not important? MyPillow would not be in business without their operations, design, etc. Maybe you could offer a summary of all the sections?
- Everything you have been deleting has been neutral. The only one making non neutral edits is you. You are playing games. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.56.15.138 (talk) 20:09, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

MyPillow CEO banned from Twitter
[edit]https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/26/business/mypillow-ceo-mike-lindell-intl-hnk/index.html
MyPillow has been banned from Twitter as a result of Mike Lindell's rants as of January 2021.2601:640:C600:3C20:5473:53AE:7FC3:3FA6 (talk) 17:21, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
Under Ratings and reviews, add "from an A+ to an F" since this is a verifiable fact.
[edit]Currently, the first sentence under "Ratings and reviews" reads:
In January 2017, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) announced it had revoked the accreditation for MyPillow and had lowered their rating to an F based upon numerous consumer complaints. The main issue addressed by the BBB was the constant use of their buy one, get one free (BOGO) offer.
We need to add: "from an A+ to", so the sentence reads:
In January 2017, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) announced it had revoked the accreditation for MyPillow and had lowered their rating from an A+ to an F based upon numerous consumer complaints. The main issue addressed by the BBB was the constant use of their buy one, get one free (BOGO) offer.
See: http://www.fox9.com/news/226949275-story — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.16.78.80 (talk) 14:30, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with this change. It gives readers more clarity about the change in their rating status. I'll go ahead and add it, but if anyone disagrees please feel free to voice your opinion. PureRED (talk) 14:56, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Great - thanks!!!!98.16.78.80 (talk) 15:05, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Add context to the number of complaints
[edit]Based on [24], we should change the second sentence under “Lawsuits and settlement”
From: The Better Business Bureau has received 220 complaints regarding the company from 2013-2016.[23] To: The Better Business Bureau has received 220 complaints regarding the company from 2013-2016 and has sold over 25 million pillows [23][24]
This change puts the complaints in perspective. A company with 220 complaints and, for example, trillions in sales would not be a big deal. A company with 220 complaints who has sold 250 items is a big deal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.80.146.209 (talk) 16:49, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'd disagree with this particular suggestion. I think that the context for sales is already mentioned in the article up top. This product is hugely successful and I think the article represents that pretty well. This section we're talking about is referencing complaints, not sales. PureRED (talk) 16:52, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I also disagree with this suggestion. It is fallacious to imply that complaints do not matter just because the number of sales is high. Furthermore, common sense indicates that the vast majority of people who are displeased with a product will not put in the extra effort to file a complaint, so sales alone is an inaccurate way of measuring satisfaction. 172.56.14.135 (talk) 17:26, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- The suggested change is funny, since "The Better Business Bureau" is the subject of the sentence, so we would be stating that "The Better Business Bureau has sold over 25 million pillows" Edison (talk) 23:37, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
Merging the Michael J Lindell Wikipedia article into this article doesn't make sense now, given recent content
[edit]I just updated the Mike Lindell Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_J_Lindell) with content from current references.
As you can see, there is little about MyPillow - most of the article is about Mike Lindell, not MyPillow.
So, given the significant non-MyPillow content in Mike Lindell's Wikipedia article, it doesn't really make sense to merge Mike Lindell's article into this MyPillow article now.
Update: Since there have not been any other updates added to this discussion (it has been over a week since I added the above), I will be taking off the "merge" from the Michael J Lindell Wikipedia article. --WikiGJay (talk) 18:20, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
Created thousands of jobs?
[edit]The latest commercial I saw just this morning claims MyPillow has created “thousands of jobs” right here in America. Latest employment info I can find online says they had upwards of 1,600 employees before a layoff last year. Can anyone provide insight on this? TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 14:51, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
gratuitous trivia or encyclopedic content?
[edit]Anyone else think that a pillow donation from 2015 is not encyclopedia-worthy content? re: "In March 2015, My Pillow donated pillows to the Sandra J. Schulze American Cancer Society Hope Lodge facilities, which houses patients and their caregivers when traveling for treatment."[39][40] Are we to include every little donation a corporation makes on their pages? Cheers! J.D.718 (talk) 22:01, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- It's one sentence. If "every little donation" was included here, it might be a valid issue. This 180-pillow donation is an example of philanthropy in the section of the article devoted to it, and the content is fully sourced. —ADavidB 03:17, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it's one insignificant sentence. I don't see enough philanthropy to even warrant a section, frankly, perhaps the section should be eliminated. Does a 180 pillow donation reflect the philanthropy of the foundation? the is not significant to an encyclopedia. Company pages do not typically list small scale donations. What makes this one worthy of inclusion? While the content is not useful to an encyclopedia, it is of use to the subject company, a company that walked back its claim to be producing masks strictly as philanthropy (formerly under the gratuitous title of "Charitable work"), which is clearly not the case, though I see that you had defended that untruth by restoring another editor's deletion of it (based on it not being factual). You made no effort to update and correct that information (as I did), notably on June 13 and 14, when such information was readily available. On the 14th, you specifically added the phrase "to donate to", rather than updating the content factually. To borrow another of your phrases, that "might be a valid issue" in itself. All edits considered, forgive me if I don't give much weight to your particular opinion on this. - Wikipedia editor opinion has nothing to do with it. The information is sourced. If you have other sourced content, please add it. Notability guidelines do not apply to content within articles. —ADavidB 17:40, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Talks that MyPillow CEO wants to arrest 300 million people
[edit]Warning there are articles out there in 2022 saying that Mike Lindell wants 300 million Americans arrested for voter fraud. If this is true then???2601:640:C681:C260:4999:B934:4420:C0BA (talk) 16:32, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

My Pillow or MyPillow?
[edit]https://www.mypillow.com/ calls the company "MyPillow®". --Guy Macon (talk) 04:04, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- I went with what the article is currently named. I don't care either way, though the name should only be one way in the article. —ADavidB 13:59, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! I agree that it should be consistent. Does anyone disagree with me renaming this page and changing it to MyPillow everywhere on Wikipedia? That would mostly affect this and the Mike Lindell page, but I would have to update a bunch of other pages such as Dominion Voting Systems, Chaska, Minnesota, Twitter suspensions, and Chaska High School, so if anyone objects, speak up before i waste a lot of effort. --Guy Macon (talk) 14:20, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Guy Macon: - I support MyPillow. starship.paint (exalt) 03:06, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- I am leaning towards using "My Pillow" in this article to make the usage consistent here but do not support changing this throughout Wikipedia. At present this article has five instances of "MyPillow" and 33 of "My Pillow" which is why I suggested "My Pillow". The company uses both "MyPillow" and "My Pillow" on their web site with Google showing an almost even split of 654 results for "MyPillow" and 694 results for "My Pillow". --Marc Kupper|talk 00:21, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Marc Kupper and Guy Macon: - recent U.S. federal court memorandum opinion uses
My Pillow Inc. ("MyPillow")
(page 4) and thenMyPillow
henceforth. starship.paint (exalt) 11:44, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for the pings, Guy Macon. I didn’t realise you retired. starship.paint (exalt) 11:47, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Starship.paint, It appears the document you cited was written by attorneys for Dominion Voting Systems as part of a lawsuit against various parties, including My Pillow. I would not use that as official canon for how to spell a defendant's name. Normally I'll look at a company's legal terms, privacy policy, etc. statements when I am wondering how to format or spell a company name.
- Terms Uses both forms extensively with one curiosity being that "My Pillow" dominates in the top half and "MyPillow" in the bottom half of the terms statement.
- Privacy Policy Uses "MyPillow" once and "My Pillow, Inc." once.
- Guarantee & Warranty Uses MyPillow except for one mention of "My Pillow Inc."
- California Consumer Privacy Act Mostly uses "My Pillow" except for "MyPillow" in their postal mailing address.
- In summary, they are not consistent nor could I see a pattern for when and how they use each form of the name.
- The Wikipedia move logs for this article show that the article has been at "My Pillow" for all of its life other than a recent move to MyPillow that was quickly reverted.[1] [2]

- I'm inclined to stay with "My Pillow" as it's been the long standing name that has not been contested. I don't support hunting down and changing all instances of "MyPillow" to "My Pillow" throughout Wikipedia. Both forms of the name are correct if you ask the company.
- We probably should say that the company uses both forms but need a WP:RS source for that. Citing their Terms & Conditions page for example would be WP:SYNTH on our part. --Marc Kupper|talk 15:14, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Marc Kupper: - you are mistaken about the author of the document. It’s not Dominion or it’s lawyers. Check the last page. It’s U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols. This is essentially a court ruling. I did more research and found that a lawyer for MyPillow, Nathan Lewin, called them exactly that. So did another lawyer for MyPillow, Abraham Kaplan, here. starship.paint (exalt) 00:33, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Starship.paint, you are right. --Marc Kupper|talk 01:43, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Marc Kupper: - I agree with you that both forms of the name are correct. Unfortunately, we can only choose one for the article title. I'm not convinced that just because this has been the title, this should continue being the title (
"My Pillow" for all of its life
). I am willing to take the effort to change that if you agree. starship.paint (exalt) 01:58, 17 August 2021 (UTC)- Starship.paint, if you believe there is confusion among people seeking "My Pillow" then a better fix is to create a page similar to Tears on My Pillow (disambiguation) and to add Other uses at the top of this article. Besides the articles you mentioned there is also Helmet for My Pillow and (Lay Your Head on My) Pillow. I believe a far greater source of confusion is people arriving here at My Pillow and there was no mention of MyPillow other than it's sprinkled in the last section. I added an a.k.a. that hopefully addresses that aspect.[3] --Marc Kupper|talk 05:59, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Distinct use of neo-Nazi dogwhistle
[edit]Someone made me aware of the neo-Nazi dogwhistle '1488' directly used by the company's advertisement: their tweet in question / a yahoo article about it. Sourcing is liable to improve as this is very recent; sadly Twitter seems to be 302ing archive.org so if anybody gets an Archive link please let me know.
