Name meaning

it seems more than once someone deleted the name meaning for reasons not entirely given. I undid the last edit for I felt a good enough reason wasnt given. Other pages tells meanings of foreign(unenglish) names and no one thinks twice on it so why not here? Who knows? If ise the only one who thinks so Ill butt out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.71.203.84 (talk) 00:24, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

hi there, sorry i only saw your comment here now. i reverted it again. reasoning as follows
  • for names with literal meaning like "he is angry like a lord" or east asian art names, courtesy names it makes sense to include the literal meanings. however, aoki is just a common japanese family name afaik.
  • theres a policy somewhere that only relevant information should be included, not everything possible. e.g not the number of tshirts she has at home (if that number is not extraordinary)
  • a source is preferred
  • its rather like adding "Protect the Warin of the Brown" as the literal meaning of Wernher von Braun on the top of his page. try to do it and not have it reverted or butt out jk never butt out, have fun arguing and adopt opinions in the face of evidence. tell me if and why im wrong EnTerbury (talk) 04:23, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
