In Michigan, Telegraph Rd. is a major north-south thoroughfare; it is mostly divided. The total length is c. 70 miles. It is signed as US-24 in it's entirety (except for a brief portion between dixie highway [US24 splitoff] and Walton Ave.) Back then, the telegraph lines ran along this highway hence the name.

History

In the early day of automobiles, this highway was c. 2-lane. As traffic on it densified, it eventually got divided. This highway has served as the testing ground for some highway specials.
