Highway system

State Highway 1–1 is a road located in Pinar del Río Province, Cuba linking the towns of Isabel Rubio in Guane to Arroyos de Mantua [es] in Mantua. The road is known as being 3 different sections, being the Road of Guane from Isabel Rubio to Guane, the Guane–Mantua Road from Guane to Mantua, and the Road to Arroyos de Mantua, from Mantua to Arroyos de Mantua.

History

In 1947, the Guane–Mantua Road section of the road was repaired, which would allow easy access to the two towns at the time, with this section being 37 kilometres (23 mi) at the time.[1]

In 2013, the road and other several areas in the Vuelta Abajo region flooded, this caused the demolition of 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) of road in order to repair it, with an estimated price of 700,000 CUP, and plans to recover the Road to Bolívar if flooding continues.[2]
