Hello I am R-41. I am interested in historical articles relating to World War II Germany and Italy, the Soviet Union, history of Yugoslavia and its dissolution, and lastly Canadian and international political concepts. Have posted many air force roundels for current and former air forces in high quality SVG format. Have made a detailed, SVG version of the German war ensign of 1903. I am interested in heraldry as well.

Created the page Kingdom of Italy (1861–1946) originally called Kingdom of Italy (Savoy) in early 2007, made major contributions to it. This page gives information of Italy as a state during the rule of the House of Savoy and under the Fascist regime of Benito Mussolini. I changed the Kingdom of Bavaria page from a redirect page to an actual page about the state itself, still have a lot to work on though. Created the article Yugoslav Royal Air Force. Created the SVG image of the SFR Yugoslav coat of arms and the SFR Yugoslav Air Force.

I have studied indepth the ideology of Fascism, particularly Italian Fascism, and have examined in detail many areas of the the events that led to the Yugoslav wars. On the subject of fascism, I have worked to find more information on the status of women in countries that had fascist regimes. Being a male myself, I have nevertheless recognized a lack of information on issues related to women in a number of articles that should have such information. I the information I have found on the status of women in Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany is a useful contribution which will allow greater understanding and knowledge.

I have found some information on a rarely known state called the Rarotonga Kingdom (now called the Cook Islands) which existed in the 1800s. Unfortunately very little is known about the state, with little or no references readily available at present.

While I enjoy studying totalitarian dictatorships to understand their nature and their impact on history and society, I explicitly oppose totalitarian dictatorships of all kinds and movements that sponsor them, such as communism and fascism.

I am a centre-left social democrat in nature. I believe in a mixed market economy but I oppose free market capitalism for its blatant disrespect of workers' rights across the world and I oppose far-left elements of democratic socialism which call for the overthrow of the market system entirely and its replacement by full government control and funding that would have to be provided through massive taxation. I believe instead that reforms to the market economy and employer-employee relations, as done in Sweden by social democrats are acceptable. Until a reliable and democratic alternative to replace the capitalist market economy arrives, I believe that a mixed-market economy is the best solution. While being centre-left, I oppose the Third Way of politicians like Tony Blair for being far too close to neoliberalism and its social conservative cousin neoconservatism which in my opinion have not been successful in improving societies.

I am a political anti-nationalist who questions the use of nationalism in politics based on what I have learned through history of the consequences of nationalist politics. I belief it is absolutely fine for people to be patriotic for values that are peaceful and progressive, but they should beware of being unquestionably patriotic. I used to identify passionately with political movement of Canadian nationalism and took pride what I had perceived as Canada have a stronger moral and egalitarian nature than the United States which puts pressure on Canada to be more like the United States. However upon learning in detail of the significant bigotry and crimes committed by Canada even in recent times towards North American aboriginal peoples and the still lingering anti-French sentiments towards Quebec, and in turn the responding bigotry by French nationalists to anglophones and minorities in Quebec, I believe Canada has serious problems to overcome. Thus I have abandoned nationalist sentiments towards Canada, I respect and am proud of my country's positive developments but at the same time I healthily disrespect and am ashamed of its negative developments. I would have much greater respect for my country of Canada if Canada recognized that the land that Canadians live on was taken from Aboriginals through treaties and occupation and that Canada should have an aboriginal head of state who has real political powers to protect aboriginal rights and treaties, and I believe that the undemocratic, patronage-appointed Canadian Senate could be replaced by some sort of aboriginal peoples' council representing as many of the aboriginal tribes or perhaps tribal regions, which would have the exclusive right to propose legislation for aboriginal peoples and the right to veto legislation from the House of Commons that is deemed to violate aboriginal rights. I believe that aboriginal peoples deserve this kind of legislative protection, after being victims to residential schools imposed by the federal government.

Upon studying the devastating impact of nationalism in the Europe (particularly the Balkans) and in other places like Zimbabwe I began to realize how dangerous nationalism can be. I was finally completely disgusted by the tendency of Canadian nationalist groups to claim that the September 11th attacks were a hoax in order to promote the idea that the U.S. is intentionally evil imperialist power, which I reject. I now believe that nationalism as a political movement is extremely dangerous to humanity. Civic nationalism has a tendency to devolve into ethnic nationalism or other usually discriminatory versions of nationalism. Campaigns of "national liberation" may be useful in liberating people from oppression, but it is very dangerous in that the nationalist elements of the idea of national liberation risk the creation of xenophobic views towards the nationality or nationalities of the former oppressors, as is the case in Zimbabwe by its government towards white people. In the Balkans, a long history of wars for national liberation have created strong xenophobic currents amongst people in the Balkans causing many people such as Croats and Serbs to typically absolutely hate each other. The struggle for national liberation was even deadly for India under the leadership of pacifist Mahatmas Gandhi (whom I have great admiration for, in peacefully opposing colonial tyranny in India), as freedom from colonial rule resulted in violent ethno-cultural strife between Muslim Pakistanis and largely Hindu Indians, as Muslim Pakistanis did not want to be in a Hindu-dominated state.

I believe that people should work towards creating a peaceful world devoid of national divide for the sake of humanity by encouraging reconciliation between ethnic, religious or cultural groups which have engaged in conflict with each other. This goal is idealistic, but submitting to the violent ethnic nationalism and xenophobia which remains rampant in the world is not acceptable, and it should be fought against.

I have retired from Wikipedia. It's an addictive, never-ending vicious cycle of POV-pushing with little insightful and intelligent users. No issue is solved, I've run into far too many bigots and anti-social types which would rather scream and humiliate people to prove their point than engage in serious conversation and debate. You'll waste your life on this thing, LEAVE WHILE YOU ARE STILL YOUNG!
