Reviewer permission

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:28, 27 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Lainie Friedman Ross

I left a message in "New section" but am adding it here as well. The reason why I deleted content from Lainie Friedman Ross' page was because Lainie Friedman Ross contacted me directly asking that it be taken down immediately due to misinformation. She did not ask for a page to be made of her, and clearly whoever wrote it was misinformed. For one, Dr. Ross does not work at the Washington Post. I am not the author of this page, but I work as her assistant and she asked that I work on getting it taken down ASAP. Her reputation as a doctor is compromised due to this inaccurate article. Thanks.

thanks for that, thought i had left citations.

What is supposed to be done if the IP removes the content again? He's done it 3 times already; I think he should be taken to WP:ANI, though the problem is that the IP hasn't broken the WP:3RR or for that matter any particular rule. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 16:16, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, but you are resting too early. If you notice the edit history of the article, you will notice that tehre have been other (suspiciously similar) IP addresses carrying out the exact same review deleting. Right now it seems to be in control, though we cannot predict when they will start off again. Best to be on guard. Cheers :) ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 08:55, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I rephrased some content (campus) and not deleted . There was some errors. I completely removed this (library):

  • The library boasts of Milan in its library also numerous special funds. Among these funds are 73 tablets of the ancient Sumerian city of Ur, which date back to the Nineteen III. C. Between the third century. C. and VII d. C. you put a thousand papyri from Egypt. Dating back to the Middle Ages there is a real degree of 1387 which Wenceslaus of Bohemia, Nicolò Minority investment fund Castelnuovo Fogliani. Increasingly there is a Renaissance illuminated manuscript of the Ambrosian Processional 1492 with the text and music of the Litany triduane traditionally sung in procession for 3 days before the feast of the ascension. The family tree of Visconti is maintained within a public that prevents this rare incunabula chronic nature of historical facts and the creation of the world until 1942 and this document along with other incunabula comes from private collections in Milan as prestigiosie libraries Silvio Cipriani and Vincent Negri Oleggio. Another rare example is the Roman Missal printed Venice in 1488, which is written in Gothic characters solemn. From the rich collection of Sixteenth century, about 1800 volumes, there is the edition edited by Marsilio Ficino of Dialogue of Plato. Date back to 1800, the first editions of The Betrothed. Always the eighteenth century was a manuscript of Qur'an finely decorated in gold. Belong to the late nineteenth century first editions of some of Futurist works Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Umberto Boccioni.

As you can see is an automatic translation from wiki.it. It is full of errors and inconsistencies. But it is also a very important part. I tried to correct it, but i did not. Can you try to improve and correct it? and reinsert it only after the necessary changes. thanks and bye!--79.30.164.195 (talk) 20:02, 11 March 2012 (UTC) P.S. As you may have been aware, I have tried to change the information about Retro Force as the one person known as TobiXY was trying to expose my past experiences about making the fan-arts and the videos that was not ment to be related to the subject on YouTube and on DeviantART.

He has made a big deal about it ever since I've got rid of all my stuff so that way I could move on, can you see anything that the fanart information and personal YouTube stuff that has got to do anything with the game itself? Tablighi Jamaat

Hey there Denisarona,

Shame we haven't met under better circumstances, but I thought I'd let you know I made a request to have the Tablighi Jamaat article temporarily semi-protected after even more section blanking from that IP, bumped up the warnings on the IP's talk page to Level 4 while I was at it too.

In the mean time I'm going to keep an eye every now and then on the article to see if I can catch further vandalism and reverse it till it can be protected or they give up.

Long story short, you're not alone :D Terkaal -- <Warning! Self-Confessed Newbie!> (talk) 07:44, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Got a response on the request a few minutes ago advising that any further vandalisim by the IP should be reported to WP:AIAV for a user block rather than page protection.
If you'd like to see the request and it's response, you can find it here
I hope this will help out ^^

Reg. edits on Western Orissa

Hi Denisarona, I saw that you had removed the names of people citing the reason that no articles are present. Some of these people are highly recognized civilians by the Govt. of India. You might raise a concern about Avinash Patra, Sr., however he is a young person from Orissa who was invited to Prince William's wedding, certainly not an ordinary event. No articles are presently there but people in future may want to contribute towards it and this can be an anchor. Thanks. Karan1974 (talk) 09:18, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your correction of Monteverdi Palm Beach page is totally in error

The data on the Monteverdi Palm Beach claiming two has been manufactured is FALSE. Only one was ever made. You do not admit this correction. Well then, if Wikipedia wants to remain credible the PRESENT page needs provide a source for the claim that two were made, but it doesn't. So Wikipedia is spreading false information. Shame. Since you admit the wrong data that two were made, how what source did you accept as correct? The source is Monterverdi Car Museum who provided the information only one was ever made. In addition, cross check against the German wikipedia and you will see that your correction is false. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.232.65.115 (talk) 16:42, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Annals (Tacitus)

Thank you. That user is rather persistent and will probably back. Also on Tacitus on Christ it was reverted. But then there are new users such as Saufenhei and Ginitto who show up on that page, just edit that page and no other and add information similar to that blocked user. Seems strange... but then this is Wikipedia. Cheers. History2007 (talk) 16:56, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decapitation article and Srebrenica massacre

Hi. I saw you reverted the changes made by the IP editor to the Decapitation article, in which mention of victims of the Srebrenica massacre having been beheaded was replaced by a general description of the incident (and its status as a war crime). But I was confused to see that you reinstated the material in question, reverting your own revert. Can you help me understand what was going on here? I don't want to get involved in an edit war, but to me it seems pretty "cut and dried" that the IP's changes simply do not belong in this particular article — and, indeed, some would say the removal of directly relevant material (along with appropriate references) might amount to vandalism. Just in case there is something else going on here that I'm failing to notice, I'd be grateful for your input. Thanks. — Richwales 15:55, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've responded on your talk page. Denisarona (talk) 06:03, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I understand your perspective. As for whether the IP editor's work is vandalism or a content dispute, I would say it is probably a misguided content dispute, and that his changes do need to be reverted (albeit with an explanation in each case). In addition to my explaining in my own edit summaries why I've reverted his changes, I've also commented both on the article's talk page and on the IP address's talk page (hopefully he will notice at least one of these things). If, despite all this, the IP doggedly sticks to his position (or perhaps even refuses to acknowledge any discussion on the matter at all) and continues to insist on making the same change, it will IMO definitely cross the line into disruptive editing — even if not strictly vandalism — and stronger measures may be necessary to put a stop to it — especially since there is an ArbCom ruling in effect (WP:ARBMAC) which covers disruptive editing on any topic related to the Balkans, anywhere in Wikipedia. I'm not really looking forward to having to escalate the process further; hopefully the IP has understood the point by now. — Richwales 06:38, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you. Normally I tread warily when checking articles related to e.g. the Balkans or Islam, as there seems to be a tendency to initiate edit wars due to differing POVs. Anyway, thanks for your help & insight. Regards Denisarona (talk) 08:34, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, user:Denisarona,

I've recently been editing a page called "RINJ," specifically the section titled, "Controversy" (I had originally tried inserting the relevant pieces of information into the main body of the article, but it was quickly deleted). Another user, who I suspect is aligned with the group RINJ and Wikipedia editor Micheal O'Brien, has been removing my edits and calling them vandalism. I admit I am a novice editor of Wikipedia, but I am not a novice user of encyclopedias or uneducated about the subject matter. Personally, I question the validity of the entry in the first place, as it seems very much to be a vanity page rather than an entry into an encyclopedia, but it was already challenged by someone else, I believe. Anyway, I was hoping you would take a look at RINJ and perhaps give me your input on the subject, and consider lending your support in ensuring the page is complete. Much appreciated.

Hey, if you're interested in "adopting" me, I'd appreciate that, too. I'm really stumbling around here trying to get the hang of things.

BestDef (talk) 00:34, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your message. I spend 99.9% of my Wikipedia time reverting obvious vandalism and correcting grammar/spelling mistakes. If there is a problem with edits to the above article and they are leading to an "edit war" I would suggest that first you make contact with an active administrator - see List of administrators and get their advice. There is also the means of reporting to Edit war noticeboard as a type of last resort.
As I said above I concentrate on vandalism so I really don't know a lot about technical things, such a writing an article and all that it involves (and I don't have the 'continuous' time available for these. I'm really a quick visitor rather than a stay for hours editor. I recommend you look at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user which is very helpful and there are editors whose specialize in "adopting". Best regards for the future and I hope all goes well for you. Denisarona (talk) 14:08, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dates

There is a huge number of pages on Wikipedia infected by instances of US date format, which is illogical, archaic and often confusing (except of course to Americans, who are hopelessly mired in inches, gallons, Fahrenheit and any other units that set it apart from the civilised world). The appearance of such instances on a website that many regard as authoritative unfortunately tends to condone poor practice.

On your user page you claim pride in being European. In Europe those of us who speak good English (and many other European languages) don't muck about turning dates back-to-front. The "first day of the month" is perfect English grammar, so is "the eighteenth day of May", and "18 May" is a sensible contraction. "May 18" is not.

Your arbitrary reversion of my attempts to put right grammatical sloppiness is counter-productive. Please don't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.251.20 (talk) 10:54, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia, being a worldwide encyclopedia, allows both forms as shown in WP:Date. You are arbitrarily changing dates to suit you. Other people use this resource. In addition, the use of May the eighteenth is as equally valid as the eighteenth of May. I prefer the use of the ddmmyy format, but I have no intention of imposing it on others. 14:02, 18 May 2012 (UTC) Denisarona (talk) 10:36, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, your note to the IP was perfect, as it's not entirely clear why that section was blanked (twice). Perhaps the IP believed it to be original research, and maybe it is, but an explanation in the edit summary would have been enormously helpful in figuring out their intentions. Since there is the potentially legitimate reason for removing the content, combined with the IP's more recent edits to the article (such as those detailing the composer's 2012 work, The Con Artist), I would say the edits in question might fall in the "detrimental but well-intentioned" category, but do not appear to constitute vandalism. Vandalism on Spyker cars

You undid my edit on Spyker cars (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Spyker&diff=495434546&oldid=495434477). I did give an edit summary "removed vandalism". But since you honestly seem to believe that a horse drawn carriage is a car model, fine, so be it. *sighs* 94.64.194.149 (talk) 10:17, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Response as follows:

Spyker If you had read the article you would have seen the following second paragraph:-

  • In 1898 Spyker manufactured the "Golden Carriage", still in use by the Dutch Queen today.

What you removed was a perfectly valid and connected image, not "vandalism". Multiple sighs. Denisarona (talk) 10:29, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Higgs Boson, scalary Boson or BEH Boson

Why did you revert my corrections ? Boson de Higgs like God Particle is not the official name for Higgs wasn't the first one to describe it. When it is discovered in Geneva, it won't be given this name. We should give the three present names given by the scientists. BEH boson is perhaps the best solution. Cf. for instance: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21328575.000-change-of-higgs-boson-name-hints-at-trouble-ahead.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.4.107.49 (talk) 11:47, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've responded on your talk page as follows:

Thanks for your note. However the article quoted by you does not say there are three names - it says will be future debates about the naming of the boson, but that it will probably be popularly known as Higgs boson. Scalar boson is not a name - it's a description. It can also be used to describe an inflation. Denisarona (talk) 12:48, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Frequent notices for edits I did not perform

Hello! When last I checked Wikipedia, I found messages from several editors, yourself included, stating that edits I had previously made had been reverted for vandalism. However, the majority of these reversions are for pages I've never visited! As you can see, I don't even have a Wikipedia account. Is it possible that these edits are from some other person in my general area using the same IP address? I am not sure how these things are determined and I don't want to be banned/blocked for something I didn't do. If you are not the person I need to speak to on this matter, please leave a message following this one. Thanks! --L.B. Hi, that's fine! I would, on a personal note, recommend using Twinkle or Manual instead of rollback for things like that, because it's not really vandalism. Also see WP:RED. Thanks for the explanation. Best, --Chip123456 (talk) 17:12, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. No, I didn't mark it as vandalism & the IP has made other edits which seem ok. Denisarona (talk) 17:14, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know. My point is, rollback is a tool to revert vandalism, and that's really the main reason unless for the last bullet point, (on WP:RBK) but their edits don't seem to be widespread misguided edits and it can also be used to revert your own edits. Their edits fall under Good faith. Cheers, --Chip123456 (talk) 17:21, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm lost! Rollback is used to revert problematic edits such as vandalism - I don't understand your point. I didn't revert the IP's other edits. I always assume Good faith but not all good faith edits are 100% correct. I issue warnings for vandalism, unsourced additions, deletions, blanking, etc. Denisarona (talk) 17:27, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry if one is being incoherent! I know what you do as I see you in the recent changes, and you do a great job. But that rollback shouldn't of been executed as rollback is used for vandalism, not good faith, which is what the edit was. Is this any clearer or are we going round in circles?! --Chip123456 (talk) 17:37, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, Cheers. Denisarona (talk) 17:45, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Back in September last year, you notified me of 58.173.108.97's behavior. I've listed that IP now in that investigation page. If you have some time, please try to recall that problematic behavior, and check the other three IPs for the same, and then make a comment at the investigation page on whether you think they're all the same person or not. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 12:50, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, once I blocked them, they didn't reappear as 58.173.108.97, but as 58.173.109.51. Then when that IP was blocked, they went quiet. Two weeks ago, they came back as 58.173.108.6. That's my impression at least, judging from their behavior. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:57, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ciao , volevo chiederti una mano per sistemare il paragrafo ranking nella pagina dell'università cattolica (wikipedia italiana). A me sembra estremamente non neutrale quel paragrafo.

Hello -

Thanks for the message. The previously deleted content did not have a source and so I deleted it. The new information is cited however the article cited is poorly written and highly misleading. Any ITU member country can propose anything and there are 193 of them. It takes a majority vote for any idea to be passed into treaty and after that the ITU doesn't have any enforcement powers...

Most of the hubbub was about a Russian draft document which has since been completely revamped.

Most of the current news sources and don't actually dig into what is being proposed, they talk around it without citing actual details of draft proposals. One reason why is because the draft proposals are "secret" but this is the Internet and basically everything has leaked already: http://news.dot-nxt.com/itu/wcit/docs-by-meeting

This entire campaign to discredit the ITU is suspect and I'm working on compiling a lot of information that may illuminate and add detail to the discussion.

Here are several articles for your reference that can add balance to the discussion: http://itu4u.wordpress.com/2012/11/23/the-google-campaign-an-itu-view/ http://theglobaljournal.net/article/view/873/ http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-11/23/guide-to-itu-wcit

Thank you for you hard work and for reaching out!

The category you have removed from Javelin throw is a list of Olympic medalists in both track and field events and includes e.g. Usain Bolt from the 100 metres event. So, the category should be re-instated. Denisarona (talk) 07:47, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gulf Arabic refers to the type of Arabic - the language, and not to the geographical name. Denisarona (talk) 08:57, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If it has to do with the TYPE of Arabic and not the geography of the Arabs that speak it, why is it called GULF Arabic?! It's geography! It was not a test. I indeed made a mistake the first time and added it wrongly, however I did change it again.

I only wanted to add the name of the one who made the pictures and the knowledge that untill 2008 there were no nice images of this process. I think this is interesting information. It shows that its not easy to visualise the process of ovulation.

Edits to the American Bully article

18:41, 3 January 2013 (UTC)DrG (talk)Hi Denisarona,

I did do some editing on the American Bully page. I deleted the 'Temperament' and the 'Breed standard and animal cruelty' sections. Both of those sections were heavily biased against the breed. If there were an article on a car, let's say the Volkswagen beetle, the article wouldn't contain negatives about the car unless they were proven. The article would most likely have a 'controversies' section and would list things. The way the article is written now it claims that the American bully is only 6 generations from pit-bulls, it shows statistics relating to pit-bulls which isn't a breed, American pit bull terrier is a breed, as is the Staford-shire terrier, but this article states that pit-bulls are inherently aggressive while the ATTS (a temperament standard testing society)shows that the American pit-bull terrier and the Staford-shire terrier have the same temperament or better than Labradors, beagles, and other family dogs. The article as it is written is erroneous as American bullies are at least 8 to ten generations away from Pit-bulls as you can see if you go to 'www.bullypedia.com' which shows pedigrees.

The article has the feeling for a person that is against pit-bulls and has never visited, played with or had any hands on knowledge of the breed. The person who wrote the article did some 'research' online but did research for negative statistics. Also the breed standard and animal cruelty section is clearly biased as any breed will have some cruel breeding practices like puppy mills and the like.

All I did was bring the article back to clear facts, the American bully is a newer breed that is recognized by select kennel clubs and it started in the united states and contains the American Staford-shire terrier the American pit-bull terrier and other breeds bred specifically to obtain a certain look. Nothing else in the article is proven. I agree that the article should not be biased but we have to protect the integrity of the information. Don't you agree? So please do not reinstate what I have deleted.

I speak about this in the 'talk' section of the article I wasn't aware I was supposed to do anything else. Perhaps you could look a little deeper before you reinstate biased material about a subject you can't possibly be an expert in? I am not trying to be argumentative I am just saying that you may be passionate on the mater based on news articles but you cant possibly have spent any time with this dog or the ancestral breeds used to create it. If you had you would be in love as there are no sweeter, more loyal more playful and healthy little animals than American Bullies. As with any breed and with all breeders there are bad apples but that doesn't negate the entire breed. If you are in the states I'll invite you to my home and you can speak to my vet and you can see an American Bully. Veterans Today

The reason for these edits is that the additions by Redhanker are massive NPOV violations. You cannot write an article that basically says an organisation is pro-Nazi, pro-Iranian, etc., based on only opposition to American policies. Looking through Redhanker's history, it seems he has a habit of this.

My question to you then is why did you not delete his (Redhanker's) changes when he made them?

Template:Tucker Smith Revision Hi Denisarona. I'm quite new to this so please forgive my fumblings. I tried to add a photo of Tucker Smith to his page and the thumbnail image was (and is) coming up as a negative image. If I click on the photo, the larger view is fine but the thumbnail looks, well, odd. I took the image down, not knowing what to do next and you've put it back up and yet, it's still a negative image. I've tried to make changes under my old username but my password is not recognized and when I request a new password, no email is sent to the email address I've given here. I'd love for the photo issue to be resolved, he's my uncle and it would be nice if his photo can be posted. If not, it's okay. Thank you. ~rickkilroy~

Corrections to the the "Big Cats" article

Hello, you just undid the corrections I made to the "Big Cats" article. The puma exists in Central America, not only in North America and South America. Indeed, there is puma ALL OVER America. So it is more accurate to just write America. Writing that the puma exists only in North America and South America is misinforming the users of Wikipedia. Also, saying "the Americas" is the habitat of the jaguar is superfluous, since writing "America" refers to the same continent, by its proper name (you can refer to "east Europe" and "west Europe" but when you refer to both, you do not need to call them "the Europes")

Your links are not correct. For example, you linked to America which is a disambiguation page, not an article about the continent. If you edit an article, please use the correct links. Denisarona (talk) 07:44, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly, there is no article about America, the continent. There's only an article for "The Americas" which is NOT a continent. I cannot correct the disambiguation page, either. There's no link for editing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.249.120.107 (talk) 07:51, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the term back to "the Americas", which reflects common, if somewhat illogical usage. @ 189.x, Our goal is to be informative, not to correct widespread usage via the encyclopedia. It is potentially confusing to state in Wikipedia's voice that something exists in "America" in the popular usage as the USA, rather than "the Americas," which unquestionably and unambiguously includes both North and South America. Please do not edit-war to include your preferred usage. Acroterion (talk) 11:51, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Habbani Jews article

Hello. I am sorry it took me several years to respond to a request you made for my assistance on the article about the Jews of Habban. I have been off of Wikipedia for a while while I was writing a novel. Now I have decided to do some articles here and there. I have started on the Habbani page doing some clean up to certain areas. Concerning the rewriting of history issue with the bodyguards of Abdullah. I will have to deal with that last. I know Yehoshua Sofer personally and I know what his claims are about the photo. I also know that when one says Beduins one can just as easily be talking about Jews. There are number of Beduin tribes that were Jewish or were once Jewish. Yet, I think the important part is to deal with the regular stuff in the article first.--EhavEliyahu (talk) 10:29, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you can help me with this. What is Wikipedia's rule about pictures of things like books that a person has taken themselves? I have pictures of the Habbani prayer book and a book about their history. I took them myself but I am not sure if someone would make an arguement that I don't own the book rights. On another note I sent an email to the web-master of http://www.habbani.com to ask for permission to use some of their photos. I am still waiting for an answer.--EhavEliyahu (talk) 07:49, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Billy Club Sandwich (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Rajmavrick, our job isn't to cast the company or Abdelnour himself in a "good" light. Our job is to be accurate. I am satisfied with the new addition you made regarding the fraud settlement, but I think we should 1) include both the SEC source and the Dealbreaker source and 2) I believe we should include the quote regarding Blackhawk never actually raising any money, and the text that previously appeared on Blackhawk's site, telling prospective investors to ignore regulators' warnings that this type of investment looks like a scam. I would like Denisarona's input on this, if she/he is willing to be involved. This can be seen here [[1]] FinnHK (talk) 19:16, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's a play on words: the toponym Gaza Strip is Сектор Газа (Sektor Gaza) in Russian and the word Gaza is exactly the same as Russian газа (gaza) = genitive case of "gas", so Сектор Газа (Gaza Strip) in Russian "means" "sector of gas" or "gas[sed] area, region".

Since the Gaza Strip is frequently mentioned in the news it became quite common in many Russian cities to jokingly refer to the neighbourhoods polluted by industrial emissions or affected by a strong unpleasant smell as "Sektor Gaza". The article in Russian Wikipedia quotes one of the members saying that in its early days the band rehearsed and performed in a rock club located in the district of Voronezh nicknamed "Sektor Gaza" because of its bad ecology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kreepin Deth (talkcontribs) 12:19, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Holocaust denial

Dear editor.

Ref your revert of the removal of this text at Holocaust Denial. A private English-language school in western Beirut censored excerpts of the diary of Anne Frank out of a school textbook after it caused uproar when Hezbollah learned the chapter was included in the textbook.[2]

This appears to be OR. Nothing in the RS claims or states that this is an act of HD. Could you please explain why you think that its removal was unjustified? Regards86.155.17.56 (talk) 13:03, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Which vs. that

You have undone several of my grammar corrections without providing any explainations. Please read this article as you seem to have mistaken my corrections for cultural difference or dialectical nuances.

The case in point:

the solution u of the differential equation which satisfies (INCORRECT)

vs.

the solution u of the differential equation that satisfies (CORRECT)

If an unrestrictive subordinate clause were intended, it might read for example:

the solution u of the differential equation, which may be interpreted as the velocity of ...

If this is unconvincing to you, please let me know why.

Blindly Undoing My Edits

You know, I don't appreciate you simply blindly undoing my edits without reason, when I've given a perfectly good reason in my comments. It is one thing if you are going to an article and want to change the article. I totally understand you coming across an article and wanting to make changes. It is another thing when you basically have a grudge against me. The fact is, I'm at a public wifi hotspot, and I'm at a different hotspot every day. If you want to make this personal, I can make this personal.

Franco Dutch Invasion of Jersey

Hello Denisarona. I am not a registered user and I have no idea how to contact you otherwise. I am not trying to do any vandalism. The page referred to as Franco-Dutch invasion of Jersey is actually wrong in its title: the Dutch Republic did not enter the American Revolution until the end of 1780, much later than the episode of invasion of Jersey (1 May 1779). The mistake follows by another mistake that I corrected yesterday: the leader of the French expedition was mistakenly indicated as the Prince of Nassau - a Dutch nobleman - rather than the Prince of Nassau-Siegen, a French adventurer and officer. Hence I was only trying to put things right. Since I am not registered, I have no clue how to change the name of the page, neither links to the page. But I was going to correct the mistakes inside the page itself. As for references, you can check the other pages of Wikipedia related to American Revolution, Dutch Republic, Prince of Nassau, and Prince of Nassau-Siegen (actually there are two of them). Thanks and regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.16.46.230 (talk) 07:47, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Television licenses article

Denisarona, you cited you reverted my changes because of my altering regional styles or spellings. I apologize - but you also removed edits that fixed grammar and spelling, which are not related to regional spellings or styles. As I do not know if changes are easily seen, but if you could spend more time on reading what changes were made and not removing all edits? If you had asked me, I would have changed my edits you had problems with back. But making reverts that erase actual corrections? It doesn't encourage people to spend time on fixing issues with Wikipedia.

Example of things you reverted back to being incorrect that I had fixed, problems in bold: "(This regional channel thow have several other non-commercial broadcasters apart from the TV2-regional programs)" -- it is missing the punctuation at the end, the dash in TV2-regional is not right (if you follow the precedent set by the author's prior writing), and it also has a word that does not belong (and it is not clear what it was supposed to be, one might assume the word "though", which would need additional punctuation as well). There were many things like this I changed, but now are changed back to being incorrect. 98.210.210.132 (talk) 09:31, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grain of salt

I did explain why, in my revision comment -- the Oxford dictionary lists "pinch" -- fine, other dictionaries do not. In any case the dictionary does not qualify it as more "modern". As I also said in my revision comment, over 80% of google results for the phrase use "grain". 108.182.99.143 (talk) 18:10, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can also check it on Wiktionary. This is an encyclopedia and the inclusion of pinch of salt is correct. Denisarona (talk) 18:14, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Neither Wiktionary nor Oxford qualify "pinch" as modern. If anything it's British. Merriam Webster includes "grain of salt" and makes no mention of "pinch of salt". Who says Oxford, which Wiktionary would have to be referencing, is more authoritative than Merriam Webster? 108.182.99.143 (talk) 18:16, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Webster is more authoritative for American English because it's American, Oxford is British. Neither dictionary qualify "pinch" as modern, so in any case that statement is either wrong or original research. If anything the inclusion in Oxford and not Webster makes the variation British, not modern. 108.182.99.143 (talk) 18:26, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
And who said that Wikipedia was American only? The expression pinch of salt is still in use in Great Britain and Ireland (and maybe elsewhere). Where is your source which says that pinch of salt is not modern? The use of e.g. COLOR in American English as opposed to COLOUR in British English doesn't make either version more or less correct than the other. Please do not remove content from Wikipedia just because the expression/content is not used in the United States. Denisarona (talk) 07:29, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

just a message

Hey Denisarona,

I noticed yesterday or the day before yesterday that you had deleted an addition I have made. You were right in doing so, but I still wanted to shoot you this message, which may help you in the future, and perhaps wikipedia as a whole. I was slightly annoyed when I saw that you had deleted my addition, especially as I had added a reference, but messed up in linking to it. To prevent users from turning away from wikipedia after their first (not wholly correct) submission I think it would be a good idea to message them what they do have to do instead. It was clear to me a source for my submission was lacking, but I wasn't aware that my submission was still saved on the talk page, until I spent some time looking around. I think this would be a better approach, to ensure the more casual user retains(?) his place in wikipedia.

disputing a revert made by Denisarona on Native American Identity in the United States

I wish to dispute the revert you made to my changes to the above mentioned article. You have stated that the changes were unhelpful. To the contrary; they were changes made on a historically factual basis. The article states that for European colonists to imagine that the native americans lived in a state similar to their own ancient tribal ancestors, (such as the Gauls, Picts, and Britons)is erroneous and incorrect, and based solely on a stereotype. My suggestion is to look at the historical facts and edit this part of the article to more accurately reflect those facts. The facts are that the ancient European tribes before and during the iron age shared many lifestyle similarities with the native americans. Both peoples lived in tribes, with similar settlement layouts, similar houses, similar lifestyles, occasionally similar tools and clothing, (with the exception of the european use of bronze and iron, of course) Organization under a chieftain or tribal confederation, possessing a few similar cultural and religious rites, the list goes on and on. (If you desire a list of sources, please let me know and I will provide them for you.) While the "noble savage" stereotype is certainly erroneous, and was applied by prejudiced European settlers incorrectly to the native Americans, for that to be correlated with the lifestyle and culture of the ancient european tribes is incorrect and a mistake. Also, this small paragraph is out of place in the article. It does not follow what comes before or after it and therefore doesn't belong and is unuseful. Because it was both unuseful and incorrect, I judged that it should simply be cut out. However, an edit to make it more reflective of the historical facts may be more desirable. Please edit (or allow me to) edit that part of the article so that it does not deny the fact that the early Europeans were similar to the native americans. HistoryGirl2014 (talk) 06:29, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Denisarona,

Thank you for your message earlier. I am new to editing within Wikipedia and I needed some free time to research "talking on one's 'Talk Page'", thus, my delay in getting back to you.

I can appreciate your interest and passion for helping to make Wikipedia as accurate as possible.

I have deleted the passage about conviction of fraud for the following reasons -

It is the core thing that one focuses on when reading his Wikipedia page and it is misleading, as it paints an inaccurate picture of John's true character. Anyone who knows him would agree.

He made some mistakes, paid dearly for them and has spent the last many years trying to reestablish himself and support his kids. This passage is extremely damaging to his career and family life.

208.60.125.226 Disruptive Edits

Since you're the last person to revert an edit and seem to know a good bit about how wikipedia operates, can you lock editing from the IP 208.60.125.226 if users aren't logged in, or point me in the direction of someone who can. The IP is for a school, at which I work, so there are hundreds of students and teachers who access the site from the IP, and many of the students have chosen to make disruptive edits, add intentionally incorrect information, and generally cause disturbances on wiki articles. I don't think the students need the ability to be able to edit any pages without creating their own accounts, to ensure accountability. Thanks. Meaning of Ethiopia

Hello, I'm here in regards to tell you about the editing out of the origins of the word Ethiopia and where it came from. I have edited out particular small texts and sentences regarding the word and the false etymology stemming from the myth that Ethiopia is a Greek word which is in its entirety false. The Ethiopian communtity does not like this confusion and lie and which in newcomers who are interested in Ethiopias' history will get false information concerning its origins from the Wikipedia article and said newcomers are most likely to spread said false information ignorantly, not knowing that it is indeed, false information. So I'm wondering if it is possible if you can help me achieve of fixing this old myth and give out the true origin of the word Ethiopia, derivative of the word Ityopya (Axum) which would be greatly appreciated, thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HocusBogus (talkcontribs) 08:39, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

REI Theory and dyslexia

Hi Denisarona,

I'm new on Wikipedia and I wanted to add new documents about REI theory which is at the moment explained only in the book [psi] by author called Eros (pseudonym). REI is a new way of understanding the human psyche. It represents the basics of how our mind operates and explains the background of our thoughts. Link: [3]. Based on this theory author developed an explanation, from which he derived a simple method that he then used to help a dyslexic child. This method is patented and free for use here: [4]. I would like to add at least those two documents: REI theory and The mystery of dyslexia unraveled and if possible a document about [psi] the book: [5]. Since I don’t have permission to add new documents and I think they are of big importance I’m asking for your help. Thank you in advance 07:29, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Erik.MIletic (talk)

Hello Denisarona. I am not a registered user and I am not trying to do any vandalism. First of all I'm trying to homogenise and make better visible the pages, and secondly to correct any mistake about the names of basketball clubs or the participations.

Thanks for your message, however, it's not correct to simply delete content without explaining why and verifying the new content. It may be better to discuss pending major changes on the article's talk page first and get consensus for the changes. Regards Denisarona (talk) 11:48, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you warned 217.169.221.165 about being blocked over this, and since it doesn't seem to have stopped him something has to be done about this. It's been going on for months now.Zvonko (talk) 14:22, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fano

Yes, if I remember well I deleted Marotta from the list of Fano's frazioni. I must have forgotten to write the reasons of my change. Some time ago, by a referendum, Marotta's inhabitants decided to separate themselves from Fano to become the frazione of another near town, Mondolfo. But now I am checking better and I see that the result is not a law yet, so I actually did a mistake changing that page now, we should wait this new situation to be definitive. (you can see, for example, here: http://promarottaunita.wordpress.com/ if you want to check what I'm talking about). I apologize for my mistakes, if there are, English is not my homelanguage Gianfo90 (talk) 14:30, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Denisarona. Apologies - this has been the subject of extensive discussion on the Talk page. I will delete the content again but this time I will refer back to the Talk page discussion.RedVictory356 (talk) 11:15, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Denisarona, the reason why I removed the wikipedia page for Lainie Friedman Ross is because she contacted me directly (I work as an assistant to her co-worker at the University of Chicago Medical Center) upset about the content because a lot of it was inaccurate. I do not know who created this page, but I wanted it taken down as soon as possible. I wasn't sure how to explain why it should be taken down, maybe you could help me? She really doesn't want this page up at the moment. Please delete it. I will follow through with the other necessary steps, but at the moment, let's try to take it down as quickly as possible...

For one, she does not work at the Washington post. Second, information about the departments and universities cited are incorrect. There are other errors. Please remove it.

I left a reply on your talk page. Denisarona (talk) 15:04, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your reverts

Why are you reverting my edits? I am just standardizing the date formats using the already defined format. Smokestack Basilisk (talk) 11:15, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Read & Check WP:DATE - there is no standardised date format - different people use different formats, Wikipedia recognises all. Regards Denisarona (talk) 11:18, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually if Template:Use dmy dates or Template:Use mdy dates are in the article the format is defined. Smokestack Basilisk (talk) 11:19, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Negroni

Memo for SQGibbon and Denisarona Subject: Negroni Cocktail

First of all I want to apologize for my fellow wikipedians for providing edits to the Negroni Cocktail Page that you object to. It was not my intent to provide "disruptive editing" nor to trample on the Wikipedia norms. I fully understand that the reason why I received warnings, is because I repeatedly added material, despite the objections of others. I know that Wikipedia is a collaborative enterprise, meaning that when we have disputes, we should not simply edit back and forth. I am reaching out to you to see if we can resolve this dispute. I know that Wikipedia does not know the credentials of authors, and in fact does not pay much attention to them. This is because Wikipedia relies on citations to reliable, third party sources like scientific journals, newspapers or blogs with editorial structures, books, and so on. The reason the material is being removed is because you are adding it without reference to secondary source material. With that in mind, I would like to plead my case before my fellow wikipedians.

I have great reservations regarding the person known as Count Camillo Negroni for several reasons:

1. In our family genealogical records going back to the 11th century, there no one by the name of Count Camillo (Sources: Authier, Michel et Alain Galbrun, Etat de la Noblesse Francaise Subsistance, 1940-1993, pp. 153-160; Cere, Luigi Arturo, Storia dell'illustra famiglia genovese dei Negroni, Genes, 1927; Negroni, Francois Marquis de, de Negroni de San Colombano Family Archives: Negroni, Roch Pascal Marie Cyr Marquis de, Histoire de l'Ancienne Seigneurie de San Colombano ou Capo Corso et de Capraia, Imp. Lavalloise, Laval (Mayenne), 1896, 311 pages: Pazzis, Henry de Seguins Pazzis d'Aubignam Marquis de, Genealogie de la Famille Negroni et ses Alliances, 1980, 315 page manuscript prepared as one of the requirements to become a Knight of Malta; Negroni, Hector Andres, 1938- The Negroni family : genealogical, demographic, and nobiliary study from its 11th century origins to its 20th century branches in Italy, France, and Puerto Rico Madison, AL : H.A. Negroni, [1998], 149 pages : ill., maps ; 28 cm, Library of Congress Control Number: 98119631

2. The paper back book by Luca Picchi, Sulle tracce del conte. La vera storia del cocktail «Negroni» is nothing more than a marketing pamphlet to promote visits to Mr. Picchi's bar in Florence.

3. Despite numerous requests, Mr. Picchi has nor provided our family with birth, death or genealogical information on "Count Camillo Negroni." As a result, we can only conclude that "Count Camillo is a result of Mr Picchi's fertile imagination.

On the other hand, to support our thesis, we can provide ample genealogical information on General Pascal Olivier Comte de Negroni. He was real person with real accomplishments. Tell me what you need and I will provide the information for your examination and evaluation. Additionally, there was a newspaper reference to Pascal's invention of the Negroni cocktail (Source: “Corse Matin Sunday Edition," 2 February 1980).

As an amicable resolution to this issue I recommend that we place both theories being equal in value and let the readers make up their mind.

I can also provide you with my CV if you desire.

Respectfully,

Colonel (USAF-Retired) Hector Andres Negroni

Strange

This appears to be some new tool showing the various inline citations on your talk page. In an article you'd need a {{Reflist}} for them to show but I wasn't aware that this now happens automatically on talk pages. De728631 (talk) 19:40, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the problem is that on edit, they don't show so I can't remove them. Strange! They appear to have 'arrived' with edits by User:87.114.9.102 earlier today.. Denisarona (talk) 19:50, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've got the same feature now. Check my talk page. On the other hand, did these references display before on your page or did you get an error message at the bottom? After all, the various inline citation on this page have been here for a few days. De728631 (talk) 19:58, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn't noticed them before today. Denisarona (talk) 20:00, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The online references mean nothing to me - I have no recollection of ever visiting or needing to visit these sites. Denisarona (talk) 20:05, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
They're part of the text posted by people to your talk page above like here. Apparently several people wanted to provide sources for what they wrote here. De728631 (talk) 20:16, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, I see what you mean. Is there any way I can remove them from the bottom of the talk page? Denisarona (talk) 20:40, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You could make a proper References section with a {{Reflist}} below this thread. While that would still display the links you could continue posting as normal after the reflist template. Alternatively you can wrap an html comment around each of those references, like <!--<ref>...</ref>-->, so you preserve the citations in the source code of your page but they won't show up in the 'live' version. De728631 (talk) 21:20, 10 July 2014 (UTC) [reply]

Or you could just turn those inline citations into direct links: replace <ref> with a left bracket [ and </ref> with a right bracket ]. That will turn the links into something like [1], [2] where they were actually inserted. De728631 (talk) 21:25, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ikuhiko Hata

The entry on Hata provided by Curtis Naito is an extremely one-sided and inaccurate piece of publicity for this controversial scholar. I and others who have been trying to edit this page are doing so, not as vandalism, but in the interests of restoring balance and factual accuracy to the entry. Please do compare the content of the versions carefully, and look carefully at the background history involved. If you do this fairly, I am confident that you will see the problems with the Naito version. Giant Sumatra Rat (talk) 08:30, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Editing of Delhi page

Dear Master Editor

This is regarding the message received in my inbox regarding editing and removing of some items in Delhi page.

The major edits and the reasons of the same mainly pertaining to Transport in Delhi are as under:

Under the main category of Transport only Air, Railway and Metro was provided as a sub-category while there was no mention of Road. Road was provided a separate category as 'Roads of 2006 and 2007'. Since Road is a medium of transport it would be better to include this mode of Transport alongwith other modes of transport. Thus I removed the contents in the separate category and included the same as a sub-category of Transport.

Further some of the contents which pertains to 'Metro' was given under the category of 'Rail' even when the 'Metro' was provided as separate sub-category. I tried to optimize by re-categorizing.

I was born and brought up in the city and thus being aware of the transport system, made those changes.

I hope that you being a Master Editor of Wikipedia will understand my point of view and let me make the changes for the benefit of readers.

Thanks for Sharing Concern and Contributions

Thank you for your message on my talk page. As explained on your talk page, you deleted content from an article without explaining why . Looking at your contributions I see that your edits have been made without an accurate edit summary. This is essential to prevent your edits from being reverted. When adding content an edit summary and a reliable source are needed. Regards Denisarona (talk) 17:30, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Italian third war of independance

Hi, I changed this article because I found the outcome misleading (and it was not sourced either). Actually, the war wasn't won by any side, but Austria had to cede Veneto because of its defeat in another war (against Prussia). So I thought it more neutral to put the peace treaty as an outcome as it is frequently done in other such article (ex : the war of Spanish succession). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.181.126.68 (talk) 17:16, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is how I'm meant to reply to you, I haven't used this feature before. So sorry if this is in the wrong place.

You messaged me about vandalism to the Kapunda page. I'm very confused about this. I think I may have accessed the page earlier but I have never edited that, nor any other Wikipedia page. Yet when I opened Wikipedia just then I had a message about it.
