Project Vote Smart

That was a pretty good call about Project Vote Smart. How many retirees do you have left? TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) ] 05:09, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

did I do that webcite thing correctly?

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MigrationbyDougAitkenCarnegieInternational2008.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:MigrationbyDougAitkenCarnegieInternational2008.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:19, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cappelli

Ha! Hadn't even noticed. I guess he was vandalized. Guess it doesn't matter now since he's leaving the biz. TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) ] 03:16, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph B. Scarnati

When I editted the infobox, i tried to put the Lt. Gov box over the state senate. Could you help me with that? Rockyobody (talk) 22:33, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ho-Jo, Can you help me with the infobox on Craig Williams (Pennsylvania politician). Its not showing up right. Also his page will take me a few days before I can complete it, so can you make sure i have a few days before someone tries to delete it. Thanks--Rockyobody (talk) 00:36, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. I have spent 2 hours cleaning up your copyvio images and text. Please stop wasting everyone's time with pointless edits. after your block is over, try out Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. Also, NEVER remove anything from my talk page again.--HoboJones (talk) 21:37, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:VirgilCantiniTapestryHillmanLibrary1.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:VirgilCantiniTapestryHillmanLibrary1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 07:05, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review

You are very welcome - it is an interesting article and I am glad to have helped a little in improving it. Keep up the good work, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:30, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DAM

DE-AY-AM DAMM! You gotta take a chill pill my man! PCE Rockyobody (talk) 02:58, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Use common names

I think moves such as this one are contrary to WP:COMMONNAME. Like Jimmy Carter, Bob Regola should be the article title (and the intro line should spell out his full name). -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:32, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet

You have been accused of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/BreakEvenMatt. Thank you. SpinningSpark 10:28, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for noticing the "bitch" in the black picture. When i removed the picture and saying in the reason to why i did, that SpinningShark or SpinningSpark (should be spinning shark) failed to see why i did it and acused me of vandalism and sockpuppetry. (for some reason i dont know) So anyways thanks for the spotting & correction. -- BreakEvenMatt (talk)

Sock it to me!

You never told me that you were a sockpuppet. Geez. And you think you know someone. TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) ] 00:53, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note, he's joking.--HoboJones (talk) 01:08, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely. I had read through your little adventure and thought I could break your stones. Anyway, I was more inclined to chalk that Corbett picture up to ignorance. Using that Federal site to sneak in a picture would have been pretty slick, if intentional. I just wasn't willing to give him that much credit. TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) ] 01:15, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding Corbett, I think he was confused by the AG's .gov address. Innocent mistake, I reckon. (I did appreciate your moment of levity, but, I put that disclaimer in an abundence of caution......) --HoboJones (talk) 01:18, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for trying to defend me in that Sockpuppet and checkuser case. Sorry you had to get dragged into the whole mess Repner1 (talk) 19:43, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for your help. I'm sure I'll find something to put in there. By the way, that message you signed as posted by me a few comments up was actually posted by BreakEvenMatt according to your History, so I changed it for you (I couldn't help but think "I've never posted that" when I read it). Thanks again --Repner1 (talk) 06:14, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I got Image:Tom Corbett.jpg from the US Federal Government Website. Rockyobody (talk) 04:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well two things. First, it says the Jeb Bush photo will be deleted,. And can you help me with the infobox for Lynn Swann? I tried to add his political info to the top of it, but it doesnt show up. Rockyobody (talk) 04:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For Ed Rendell, is it ok to use the image on http://www.governor.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=512&objID=3080&&level=1&css=L1&mode=2&in_hi_userid=2&cached=true as PD-PA.Rockyobody (talk) 04:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

COI

I thought you were going to tell me that you were now accused of having a COI. I have a feeling that User:Senatedon is a COI given the edits to Jake Corman but I don't have enough evidence to prove it. TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) 00:47, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm... Interesting. The only thing I bagged him on was removing that passage about Corman's DUI and admitting that he smoked some weed. But its one of those things I have to watch.TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) 01:10, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jeb Bush

Do you think that the Jeb Bush can be semi-protected? Looks like 75.161.223.52 and 96.232.159.182 are messin with it. Rockyobody (talk) 02:40, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing

I would like to apologise to you for the entirely unjustified accusation of sockpuppetry which I made against you. To make it absolutely clear;

  • I was mistaken in believing the image had not been vandalised
  • I was mistaken in believing that all the good faith attempts to correct the vandalism were sockpuppetry
  • I committed a bad error of judgement in continuing the accusation of sockpuppetry even after I had realised that the it was true the image had been vandalised
  • I was even more at fault for not properly checking your edit history before proceeding
  • It was also bad judgement on my part to rush into opening sockpuppetry cases when I knew I would shortly be offline for several days. There was absolutely no reason to do this, there was no urgency.

Once again I offer my apologies. I have not posted to the original cases as they have both now been closed, but if you wish me to make a post there, or there is anything else I can do to put this right, please just ask. SpinningSpark 22:05, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Scarnati

The image I uploaded had that as the reference on the site I found it. I'll find it to show you, because it linked to a US Federal Government Website, not a state site. Rockyobody (talk) 03:50, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • But that site says, specifically: "The images you find in USA.gov’s Image Search results may be protected by copyright. If you would like to use any images you find through USA.gov’s Image Search, we advise you to contact the site owner for permission. ". What links to it (the federal government will often host state owned images) is not important. the key element is the photo credit. Who took it and who did they work for. Infobox

For Ken Blackwell of Ohio, I added a infobox for his tenure as mayor, but that fucked up the Secretary of State infobox. Can you help me make both infoboxes show up properly? Rockyobody (talk) 03:35, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I fixed it a little bit, but it still needs work. Thanks for your time, Rockyobody (talk) 03:39, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rudy Giuliani

Well there was a picture of Rudy on commons, and it had another mans shoulder. So I edited it out of the picture. I do not understand how here and here violate WP:NPOV.
