Alright, please state on the Daniel Lagace discussion page why you think Daniel Lagace is notable. So far, there's not anything on the page that shows him as being any more notable than anyone else. Note that I did not put the fast delete request on it. To experiment on Wikipedia, you can use Wikipedia:Sandbox. Also be aware that reverting anyone's edit 3 times without a reason is considered Wikipedia:Edit warring and can be grounds for lockout. Markvs88 (talk) 19:35, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to but all of my time is spent fighting with you guys trying to delete my stuff.

I put a 48 hour hold request on the Daniel Lagace page. Hopefully that'll keep the heat off. BTW, when you write anything on a discussion page, add four tildas (~) in a row to sign your name. Markvs88 (talk) 19:40, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Daniel Lagace requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I've placed a request for a 48 hour hold for Outahere32 to write up something more than there is for evaluation. Best, Markvs88 (talk) 19:41, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Need for notability of subjects of articles

I have read your comment at Talk:Daniel Lagace, where you say "how are we ever supposed to get anything on here if you delete it before we are done". The answer is that you should write articles only about subjects which appear to b notable enough to warrant an encyclopedia article. If Daniel Lagace has any serious claim to notability then write what it is in the article, and the article will be kept. Otherwise it probably won't. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:26, 15 April 2010 (UTC) I understand that but if it is put up for deletion before i am done putting information into the article how can anyone have fun doing this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Outahere32 (talkcontribs) 19:33, 15 April 2010[reply]

The point of editing Wikipedia is to contribute to the encyclopedia. If you have fun doing so that is great, but that is not the primary purpose. I suggest you collect enough information to show significance of a subject before you start writing the article. The first draft of an article does not have to be complete, and showing real notability can come later but it should at least contain enough information to show that the subject has some importance, and if the subject is a person then there must be some sources to confirm information about the subject right from the start. If you have sources before you start writing the article then there should be no difficulty mentioning the sources in the article. If you don't have any sources at all then you are not yet ready to write teh article. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:46, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can also draft the article in your "user space" first, at a page like User:Outahere32/sandbox, then copy and paste it as a new article once it is ready. --Darkwind (talk) 19:51, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
