Don't call people "morons" and the like. If you don't like a policy, go to that talk page of that policy and get it changed. Until then, policy is what guides us here. Dennis Brown |  | WER 16:09, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Shut up. If something looks like it was written by morons, I'll call them morons. If you want to call what is written by morons, policy, it's your look out.

  • Only warning: don't tell people to "shut up". Dennis is an administrator here, a well-respected one, and we can't have him shutting up. We'd all be up shit creek. I'm going to leave a few templates below so you can see how this place works. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:38, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

People who say "purdy" don't deserve any respect. I'll judge for myself who is and isn't worthy of respect here, I'll not be taking cues on that from someone who is so clearly not worthy of it themselves.

  • Suit yourself. Be aware, though, that incivility can be met with a block, and that someone who wants to edit here probably also needs to show respect for the site's rules and guidelines. Besides, you know, normal manners. Drmies (talk) 16:46, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Relly? I'm wondering how a sarcastic, unhelpful and disrespectful person like yourself manages to get along here then. RoryMig (talk) 16:57, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • That's a valid question, I suppose, and one I cannot answer. Thanks for signing and bulleting! Drmies (talk) 17:00, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
        • I'll answer that, Dennis Brown, Drmies (and myself) are all admins. We are because our fellow Wikipedians decided that we should be so. This is because we have earned their trust and respect through our editing. One of the things we have learned is that one doesn't need to agree with every decision ever taken on Wikipedia. Sometimes, your point of view will be in the minority when it comes to consensus. You just need to accept it and move on. Keeping a civil attitude is essential, no matter how strongly one feels about a particular issue. I've seen many editors blocked over the years, including Admins, and even Beaurocrats. Don't make the mistake of thinking that it can't happen to you, because it can. Now, all new editors make mistakes in their Wikipedia editing career. That's fine as long as they are learnt from. If you haven't already done so, please take a look at the links provided by Drmies in his post of 16:41 hrs. If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary with every edit. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.

The edit summary appears in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 16:39, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:39, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hello, RoryMig, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you purposefully and blatantly harass a fellow Wikipedian. United States Man (talk) 19:06, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh that's a laugh. Who have I supposedly been harassing then? RoryMig (talk) 19:09, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Calling people morons and your behavior at both talk pages is a start. United States Man (talk) 19:15, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
