Chemsdine Talbi (born 9 May 2005) is a Belgian football player for Club Brugge and the Belgium national under-18 football team.[2]
Career
[edit]Talbi was with Royale Union Tubize-Braine until 2015 when he joined Club Brugge.[3] In July 2022 Talbi signed a three-year professional contract with Club Brugge into 2025.[4] He started the 2022-23 season playing for Club NXT, in the Challenger Pro League, Belgian football’s second division.[5] He scored on his professional debut against SL16 FC in August 2022,[6] and again the following week against Lierse Kempenzonen.[7]
In February 2023 Talbi began training as part of the first team squad of Club Brugge.[8] This was reported as a reward for his playing form.[9] On 18 March 23, he made his league debut for Club Brugge when he came on as a second half substitute against KV Kortrijk.[10]
Talbi would also score his first professional goal against Kortrijk in a 3-0 away win at the Guldensporen on 14 September 2024,[11] and scored the second in a 2-1 win over Anderlecht on 27 October 2024.[12]
While still 19, Talbi made his UEFA Champions League debut as a substitute in a 3-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund on 18 September 2024,[13] starting Club's visit to AC Milan on 22 October 2024,[14] also coming on as substitute in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa[15] and 1-1 away draw against Celtic.[16]
International career
[edit]Born in Belgium, Talbi is of Moroccan descent.[17] He scored for Belgium at the 2022 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.[18] He was called up to the Belgian U18s national team led by Wesley Sonck and on 24 March 2023 scored against the England national under-18 football team in a 3-0 victory.
