Description
English: Gas Street Basin, central Birmingham, England. The Worcester Bar between the BCN Main Line (left) and Worcester and Birmingham Canal (right) originally was a physical barrier to prevent water loss from one canal to the other. Goods had to be transferred over the bar from a boat on one canal to a boat on the other. Now opened up to allow boats to pass between canals. The tall building is Alpha Tower.
