Source In the book, "Dr. Noguchi's Journey: A Life of Medical Research" (2005), but it can be found in an even earlier text "Noguchi Hideyo’s Wife" (1992) by Nobuko Iinuma in Japanese, which gives information it was taken in 1918 after Hideyo Noguchi's house in Shandaken, NY was constructed.
