He was a stand-out in Texas High School Basketball. Then he attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from there in 2002, he relocated to Los Angeles, California. He is a single parent with one daughter. He has a bachelor degree in Ministry from Howard Payne University.[1]
Prior to that, he was also briefly a contestant on season 2 of American Idol in 2003, making it to the Hollywood round.[2]. Anderson was one of the 12 finalists on Nashville Star (season 6), on NBC in which he placed 4th.[3]
He is also very well known for his guitar teaching viral video segments on YouTube[4] in which he starts by saying his popular catch phrase, "Hello!" before he performs his material.
He has released four albums: Southern Man, Me and You and the spiritual Chrstian albums Inspiration Vol. 1 and Worship Unplugged 1. He also has his own indie label Coffey Entertainment, LLC.
He started playing while in the university basketball program. But he walked away from his first love, basketball, to focus on his music. He wrote his songs and released an 8-song demo performing them in public. His videos have received wide following on YouTube. He has also resorted to direct-to-fan networks in the music community, launching his "Direct-to-Fan Live Sessions". The series, hosted by the internet broadcasting platform Ustream, and powered by Audiolife, will give fans the opportunity to purchase real-time exclusive content available only during the live sessions. During the live sessions, Anderson will perform original songs and create specially designed merchandise to be released "real-time" and available for a 24 hour period immediately following the session.
He has recorded also two albums in front of a live video viewers and making it available for purchase during the same live video session.
