Song |
"Fresh" is a song by the R&B funk group Kool & the Gang. Released as a single in 1985 from the group's album of the previous year, Emergency, the song peaked at #11 on the UK chart, #9 on the U.S. Hot 100 charts, and was number one on both the U.S. R&B and dance charts.[1][2] The song introduced a new meaning to the word "fresh," meaning "good."[3]
Music video
The act of the music video nearly resembles the fairy tale Cinderella, then you see the band perform the song, two overweight women who eat sandwiches, a woman who cleans the floor, a coach, the man is withdrawn and this is the woman who had previously cleaned the floor with a sitting member of the band.
Popular culture
On Edward Yang's 1986 film The Terrorizers this song is played in a dance club when the young woman wants to attract a man so she and a criminal gang can steal his money.
